BA and cancelled Grenada flights

I have friends who are presently in Grenada. Their original fights were to return home on the 6th Jan but these were cancelled. They were re-booked to the 13th Jan but these flights have now been cancelled too. Is BA obligated to fly them to Barbados on a local carrier to enable them to get home or do they have to just sit and wait until flights to the island resume. Their flights were booked in Club World but they have no status.

IF they've been out of the UK for 14 days then there is a AA/BA option via Miami on Thursday albeit they'd then have to quarantine on arrival (EDIT: and need a PCR test as they'd be arriving Friday, so this is likely a non-starter!). Otherwise it depends if BA can book into an InterCaribbean service to Barbados - looks like is availability on Friday. Otherwise they can either get rebooked from Barbados themselves and then buy the connection separately and try pursue BA or stay and enjoy BAs 200 quid a night hospitality which I'd be very tempted to do right now :D

EDIT : found the guidline now on BA Trade- there is a reroute option onto Caribbean airlines - https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb...kba?faqid=8525 however the next flight available in the correct class seems to be to Barbados on the 24th...

Does anyone know if Grenada BA flights are suspended at present or are these just a couple of ad-hoc cancellations?

Thanks for your advice. I will pass it on.

I think that Grenada stopped allowing flights from the UK a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure if there is a date set for their resumption.
