So I booked a positioning flight to BCN for a TPR in Oct 22 HBO. I checked the upgrade price shortly after for £342 both ways for CE, a bit steep I thought. So now I have a special time-limited offer on MMB, £175! The same cost on the return so £350 return, not a bargain, I thought. again!

I have one for £75 on LHR-MAN today. Never seen it above £49 and more recently £51. Think I’m happy to slum it in Y for that price

Yes it seems that BA is reviewing the revenue stream from POUGs, which may, ironically cause more people to re-consider , and could actually cause revenue to fall, IMHO of course!

I have a BAH booking in March for LHR-JFK-SFO-JFK-LHR in CW ('I' for clarity) with LHR-JFK and JFK-LHR on BA which I believe will be CS. I am Blue and have no seats booked.
Looking on both Google Flights and BA.com a LHR-JFK-LHR in CW is £2600ish and in F is £3200ish, a fare difference of £598.
On EF, I can see 4 available seats in F outbound and 6 returning.

Can I 'simply' phone BAH and upgrade for £598?

Am I likely to be offered a POUG better than £598?

Can I use an FTV to pay for the upgrade? I know I have read this somewhere but now can't remember the reply and can't find it again.

Currently I cannot see any upgrade options in MMB or on the APP.

The BAH booking is, I believe, entitled to Double Tier Points, is an upgrade likely to affect that?

I went onto online chat to ask and turns out they wanted £6423.00 to upgrade - I hope I am offered a POUG better than that!

Flight only tickets will have a different price to BAH bookings as they are packages of flights/hotels etc, You could reprice up the holiday starting from scratch, i.e. go on BA holidays and price up 4 seats in the cabin and hotel you want, then if that is better, cancel the original and rebook. But there are always risks the offer may disappear while you are getting the voucher. Plus I believe you can only use the BAH vouchers over the phone, so you'd need to get through to them.

As for POUGs, I'm not sure how likely you are to get them on BAHolidays (if at all) and/or on a booking with multiple legs like that. POUGS tend to occur on straight forward point to points. For example, I'm flying MEX-LHR-MEX and I get offered POUGS. Make that MEX-LHR-CDG-LHR-MEX and never get offered.

you will not get a better rate if this in fact includes the AA transcons as they have been selling transcon first at a premium

On BA107 on the 4th Jan. Had already taken a POUG from WT - WTP before we split PNRs due to coming back at different times. Keen to look to upgrade to CW but it's now saying MMB that the flights aren't able to be upgraded. Apparently according to chat this happens when splitting PNRs? Is there a way to reinstate the ability to be offered a POUG or shall we just try at check in? I guess it would involve a looong time on hold...

LHR-IST, £130 each way from HBO in February.
Buying Club from fresh for my dates is £285, so not really a *special* offer.
