Historic BA routes

I was thinking it would be good to share some historic routes that BA use to fly.

Either you have fond memories of now cancelled routes, or you use to fly interesting pairs when BA flew to a wider selection of locations.

Feel free to reminisce and share

Orly

Ahh the days of LHR - ORY, I miss the closer location and ease of access of Orly to get to and from my old workplace!! Feels like an age since it vanished from LHR, never bothered with the CityFlyer route from LCY as it had rubbish timings for me...

BGO

For me it has to be BGO - Bergen, Norway. Such a beautiful approach. The experience was dampened by paying 20~ for a Fanta and a baguette in the airport but loved it.

Manchester-London Gatwick. The first service of the day flying down to the south coast and then swinging round just west of the Cuckmere Valley and overlooking that classic Sussex view before turning again for approach into Gatwick.

London, Muscat, Singapore, Sydney.
As half a dozen disembarked the 747 in Muscat, all the other passengers would be looking out the window wondering where on earth they were.

Beirut, Lebanon. Im already mourning the loss of this vibrant, fascinating, not-too-far-away destination, I really hope it returns. Tbilisi too please (but did BA ever even operate this route?)!

Would be popular now as one of the few places in UK where you can now go to the pub

Agreed, sadly the Lebanon is going through a rough old time of late.

TBS- I think BA did briefly when it acquired BMI then quickly ended the route.

I miss all the Northern European Routes: HEL/BGO/SVG/LED/TLL. So many interesting cities which have dropped off the network.

The good old days, heading to Fiji for Christmas. LHR-JFK-SFO-HNL-NAD. Return included a six hour day stop in SFO before overnight to JFK and late evening arrival in LHR

Really? Wow I never realized BA had HNL. How long ago was that?
