Anyone have any recent experience of doing or attempting to do a UuA on a booking with another airline on? I'd like to book a LHR-JFK-LHR - outbound booked in BA T and UuA to CW and inbound in AA O and SWU to Business.
I believe I would need a TA to book this as the AA flight needs to be AA coded (125- stock is OK). Per the 2012 rules above this then wouldn't be possible to UuA as the ticket should only contain BA flights but I've read experiences that this doesn't get enforced consistently.

Is it possible to upgrade 1 leg of a multi-city booking (where there's availability), and any idea of the additional charge that usually incurs? Specifically looking at upgrading the LHR-BOS leg of a DUB-LHR-BOS-JFK-SFO trip from Business to First. Would this be something the agent can do at time of booking (or if i'm getting a good fare, is it best to ticket it, then call up and UuA for the sector i want)?

No. Only AA milesaaver availability is bookable by BA and other partners. Also, ba.com often has trouble displaying milesaaver availability involving connections and when there are many flights each day between cities. Sometimes there is availability and you just need to call. See, for example, the discussion earlier in this thread and the threads listed therein:

I have now updated the BA redemption table in post #3 which shows the revised rates for bands 1 to 3. The rates shown are based on conditions where multiple price points are not offered, such as companion voucher bookings.
The revised bands 1-3 Reward Flight Saver rates have also been updated in post #5.

Could someone point me in the direction of the thread with advice on using an Amex companion voucher with a Gold upgrade voucher .. assuming you can apply this to a flight and hotel booking (in Y)..

Does the change fee waiver for BA apply to partner award bookings?I did a search but can't seem to confirm one way or another, https://www.britishairways.com/en-us...booking#change does not explicitly mention award bookings.

Quick question - I'm looking to book an open-jaw return to the USA (into SFO, return from LAS) in WT+ and use Avios to upgrade to CW. I've got particular dates in mind so looking to do this as soon as the LAS redemption seats are released, as CW LAS redemptions seem to be being snapped up pretty quickly.
Was planning to book online at 1am when the flights are released via the multicity tool, and immediately upgrade using Avios in Manage My Booking, but I'm not sure how quickly that upgrade option becomes available - anyone know the answer to this? Is there a better alternative approach?
Thanks.

you can upgrade as soon as you have booked the underlying WTP fare - you don't have to wait. you would have to call to do the UuA though as I doubt it will work online on mmb.

thanks for the info - so probably easiest to just call and book the whole thing if I'm going to have to call anyway
can you still call the overseas contact centres and book through them at 1am when the UK call centre isn't open? if so, which one would you recommend?
