Couple of somewhat complex questions re. Lloyds Vouchers
I just used my two Lloyds Upgrade Vouchers today in advance of their expiry on Sunday. I have a couple of idle questions on these bookings however:
- Is it possible to reverse the source-destination pair of booking (i.e. change a LHR-HKG to HKG-LHR)?
- If the taxes and fees were lower once the change has been made, do they get refunded to the CC (minus the 35GBP change fee of course)?

Looking to book a 7 night trip GLA-LHR- ORD late November early December, I'm Silver, I usually book WT+ on way out and Upgrade to Club on the way back using AVIOS, but looking to upgrade both ways this time, can anyone confirm that as I'm going to book a flight + car 'holiday' I need to phone British Airways Holidays (or is it the Exec Club?) to upgrade or can it all be done online? Thanks.

So I'm after flying to Chicago in October.
I really don't mind flying coach at all, I'm on a budget and would rather spend on hotel than flight, and right now I can get flights I want from LHR-ORD, Reward Flight Saver return, for a very nice price with 50K Avios.
The Avios are amassed over years of various cashback things, I haven't been saving for anything in particular and I'm unlikely to ever save enough for an 'expensive' redemption.
This isn't the absolute best value redemption I can get, but I'm happy with it. There's no redemptions higher than Y anyway for those dates.
What I'm wondering is, if my plans change, with this being an economy redemption, is it just 35 per leg to cancel/rebook? Or do I lose the full copay price?
I realise its very early, but I can't see any other way I'll get a flight to the states that weekend for such a low low cash price.

So, very pleasantly surprised, I've gone ahead and booked.
I was surprised to find RFS now between LHR and ORD anyway, but even more surprised to find that I could also get a flight down from Manchester and back for no more Avios than the LHR<>ORD fare, so I've got myself a return flight to Chicago, for the weekend of the Marathon, from the North of England, for GBP100+50K Avios.
Cash fares for those exact flights right now start at GBP638, so I make it about 1.1p of value per Avios. Can that be right? In which case I'll absolutely take that!
I was always under the impression that the positioning flight, if required, wasn't included in the Avios fare and a separate fare had to be made for each leg of the journey. Has it changed recently? Or have I just lucked out?
Now, I don't imagine I'll get the same value selecting seats. Shall I just wait until check in? I'm Blue, so no freebies for me.

If this is not the correct thread, I would appreciate someone directing me to the correct one. I am wondering about finding F using Avios. There are now several cities, Denver, Austin and San Diego to name three, that fly 4 class aircraft, namely 789, and do not offer any F for sale so obviously none using Avios. Does anyone know if or when BA will start using the First Class cabin and selling F to these cities, thus making the it a possibility to use Avios for F?

Sometimes BA use 4 class aircraft to some destinations but only use Economy, World Traveller Plus and Club World and sometimes a few folks get to book F seats nearer to check in but there won't be any F Avios seats available. it's called FLUB (see thread below) the A350 only has up to Club Suites as there is no F there.
With the implementation of the Club Suites there is also very much reduced F availability in general terms as quite a few of the 777's only have 8 F seats instead of 14.
In general F availability in general is quite hard to come across and you have to be quick to snap any up and BA won't always necessarily release them even if the cabin is empty ish.
Here are some related threads.

Not sure if this is because of the chaotic IT "maintenance" which happened at BAEC earlier in November or what else, but a couple days before this "upgrade", I was looking for award availability using BA Avios on AA on JFK-DCA for next march. Most, if not all the flights that week showed availability in coach, at least 4 to 8 seats were available, every day of the week. Now, I have been looking for a week for some availability on the same route, and I cannot find any single seat left during the entire february and march ! Iberia can find some flights available on my dates (but I really don't wan't too book with IB) and AA shows Saver availability for 6500 miles per seat on my dates for most of the flights. I checked a couple other routes using BA avios out of JFK (like BOS or MIA) and nothing shows up at all.
Is there currently an issue with BAEC to book flights with AA ?
Thanks in advance for the feedback !

Planning to make my first avios redemption and was wondering if this booking provides me with a good value: BOG-MAD-FRA; long haul in Business and short-caul in Economy for 50K Avios and 69€. Would you recommend pulling the trigger? Booking with BA Avios; flighs op by IB
