BA275 (LHR - LAS) to be operated by A350

Just received an email stating I've been downgraded from First to Club due to aircraft change. When factoring in the EC261 compensation I think Club on the A350 is a decent result over First on the 777-200.

Never expected Vegas to get the A350. Traditionally this route has always received the old bangers in the fleet.

Edit: I see AndyMcDonnell beat me by 2 mins. Admin, feel free to delete/merge

I booked F for June on this route with the 50% avios promotion not so long ago., would I be right in saying that if I downgrade I wouldn't get a whole lot back in terms of avios, due to the discount?

Currently deciding whether to reroute via LAX or take the downgrade. If the difference is minimal, may as well go F and get into Vegas earlier than the direct flight.

I may be wrong but I think you'll get 75% of the avios AND cash paid for that particular sector. For me, I'd much rather fly direct in the club suite and take the compensation than fly indirect in F.

Were booked in August with Cash F seats for our honeymoon, the fiancé isn't happy we are being downgraded I'm sure 75% back will be enough to change her mind.

I'm another First casualty: so the process is accept the downgrade to Club, take the flights, then make the 75% claim. Is that right?

Seems sensible to use the A350 on anything the mid J 747 used to operate. It seems the best volume match.

And another downgrade. It was a 2-4-1 on the 50% points offer so possibly not quite so an obvious acceptance - has anyone done the sums?

Could the OP maybe not create a new thread for every equipment change he sees? - so far today it has been two threads on LAS and one on DXB from the same poster...

With regard to downgrade compensation, post 5 of the EC261 thread helps answer many of the common queries The 2020 BA compensation thread: Your guide to Regulation EC261/2004

You don’t have to interact with the threads if they don’t interest / concern you. I posted them for those it does affect
