Seats 2CD

Seats 2C and 2D should be avoided like the plague. In addition to the normal problem that the tray tables are in the armrests, the pocket for stowing magazines, books and phones is on the bulkhead, so far ahead of you that it can't be reached while your seat belt is fastened, producing a stowage situation much like the yin-yang Club World where it's said that you need to be a contortionist to reach the stowage spaces.

I would therefore highly recommend that you don't pick 2CD ... on any flight that I'm on, because I would please like to get hold of them first. ;)

Thanks for the guide Prospero.

I am humbled by your sacrifice in taking those seats so no one else has to suffer. The word hero is often overused these days, but I can say without hyperbole that you are a hero to us all for this ;)

These seats do have an obscene amount of leg room but I do tend to avoid them for the very reasons you mentioned. Plus, as they are so highly sought after, the neighbouring seat is almost guaranteed to be allocated before Theoretical Seating kicks in.

With the demise of the E170s, at least we won't get that horrible feeling when you get an equipment change notification: finding out that your flight has been downsized and you're now out of row 12 on an E190.

ETA: and of course by that time the POUGs have all disappeared...

I have experienced a shortage of catering (when there was such a thing) in the last few rows in economy. Obviously not an issue at the moment,...

Speaking as crew that's an incredibly rare occurrence however the vegetarian option does tend to run out about ⅔ of the way through the cabin. In fact apart from on very lightly loaded flights there's usually quite a lot of food left over.

Both of our most recent trips to Nice from LCY - so 2019 - have had the dreaded equipment change and our chosen 2CD have disappeared into the ether only to reappear as AB row 3 or 4.

On one previous flight that enormous amount of space gave a delightful crew member space to crouch in front of us and we had a very interesting conversation about the ups and downs of crew life.

If you do take 2CD (particularly 2D), mind your head when standing up. With all the open space in front of you it's very easy to forget that there are relatively low overhead lockers above you!

Has been my experience on the morning Frankfurt...

I'm very sorry for having to bring the tone down here and talk about Economy but does row 12 on the E190 actually have more leg room due to the overwing exits? I presume seats slightly narrower due tray tables in arms too? Good refreshed look to this page!

Yes, lots of legroom in row 12. The tray table is fixed to the back of the seat in front.

so im super tall and slightly wide should I take 2D on the 190?

Bluekjp Jun 22, 2021 12:22 am

Yes indeed. 2C or 2D. It is akin to having your own small cargo area just in front of you.

ratechaser Aug 17, 2021 5:27 am

Row 25 - MMB shows it as an exit row, but is there additional legroom (given its right at the back of the bus, I'd only pick them if it was really worth it...)?
