I'm so out of touch. Desperately trying to work out the sweet spot despite only have 100k avios and a whole bunch of vouchers and e-vouchers. In normal times i'm sure i'd have already booked a family holiday.

Now, where do I take the fam for Easter?!

Very nice. Just cancelled my companion voucher F > J return booking to SAN over easter to LAX F return over the same period.
175k avios refunded, spend 100k on new flights. So upgraded to F both ways and 75k avios back. Result.

Just booked HKG return for two; all F as two separate bookings - Ł856 in Fees and 180,000 Avios... not too shabby !

Good old BA IT. Can always be relied on to work properly.

AMS-HKG return in CW off peak is 165,500 Avios (15,500 + 150,000)

After the discounts, the cost should be 86,625 (11,625 + 75,000) but BA are pricing at 96,376, right the way through to the payment page.

Urgh. Don't dally folks! I am seeing reduced availability from when I was checking 45 minutes ago!

I'm sure that it has been covered (link please? ) but if booking with confidence for an avios fare, presumably if you need to change the availability still has to be there? So there's a risk you could "time out"?

Yes, working now.

85,000 (plus a 241) for 2 to LAX in First is unbelievable! Be quick!

I have a 2-4-1 booking, out in WTP, returning Club next year, but can see availability in Club both ways at the moment - would an agent be able to cancel the existing booking and rebook both ways in club at the discount rate, or do you think we'll need to cancel, wait for the 2-4-1 voucher to be recredited and then rebook?

Normally the vouher and Avios is back in the account in 10/15 mins if it is a straight forward, not amended booking

Thank you for this, and thanks to all FT'ers for providing the valuable info across so many issues. Just used 241 to book TLV next May for a postponed wedding. Ł654 in taxes; just over 31K avios; return CW. Great deal.

Thanks! Unfortunately when I try to cancel its only offering to refund the cash element amount as a voucher, I'm assuming this wont be available to use immediately to pay the fees etc on the new booking.

OK, so I just changed a WT+ trip for 3 pax (so 6 x WT+ sectors) into 1 WT+, 4 CW and 1 F. And got a handful of Avios back although the TF&C went up a tad.

We'll be in different cabins on the way home, but we'll have run out of things to talk about by then anyway!
