Not for a couple of months now and very unlikely to come back IMHO.

Anyone know if the 380 will operate this route in June/July?

I have made a dummy booking and it only shows 777's and 350's

Thanks for the quick reply. Bit of a bummer as the extra capacity over a 777 would have been good for me as I'm on a standby ticket.

Just to reassure anyone thinking about coming to Dubai post-pandemic - I arrived this morning and it was very easy (and extremely quiet)! No testing required for departure, fill out a quick form on the app, and arrivals was seamless! No threat of testing on arrival - that all seems to have been tidied away since my last visit.

I was in my hotel less than an hour after landing! I cant even say that in London these days.

Which app are you referring to?

I think aks120 may be referring to the Al Hosn app - but that is only required for UAE residents AFAIK. I certainly didn't need to fill out any forms, app-based or otherwise, when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

Hi

I also thought the Al hosn app.was only requires if going to Abu Dhabi.

Likewise I had no apps or forms to complete when in dubai in early March ( apart from the then required per test prior to departure from lhr)
regards

It was the COVID-19 DXB Smart App - not mandatory but recommended (I think). However the Sherpa website seems to have changed since I filled it in a couple of days ago.

Just got back from Dubai, nor forms or apps needed. Al Hosn app only required for Abu Dhabi. In Dubai itself nothing is needed, no test before flying.

Given the paucity of BA rotations to Dubai this summer, I was looking at EK on a QF code as an alternative but can't find anything there either (looking on Google flights and the QF website).

I know QF route their own metal via Singapore nowadays but I thought the EK codeshares were still going - am I missing something?

Yea I can just book 'straight' EK but would quite like the OW benefits too...

I believe you can also skip the Al-Hosn app in Abu Dhabi if having the NHS app and a PCR not older than 14 days - will be equal to Al Hosn then.

Back to Dubai

Hi,

Needed to take some time off and London and European hotel prices are high so decided on 10 days in Dubai

Doing EDI-LCY-LHR-DXB then DXB-LHR-EDI but doing EDI-LHR on the outbound raised the price by several 000pounds

F about GBP 300 more than CW each way.

Managed 2K on the 777( 8 F 777s) both ways

Outbound is at 2115 arriving 0730
Return is at 1205 arriving around 16555

Have not been on the 8F 777 before so be interesting to compare it to the A380 F

Regards
