And because the outbound and inbound flights on 27 and 28 March 2021 do not match, there seems to me to be every chance that the appearance of the 380 is just placeholding after moving the original 777 to some other route. For example, if a CS 777 has been moved to HKG four days a week (BA Hong Kong equipment changes), the 380 may simply have been "put onto" DXB to placehold those four days.

This far out, I’m not placing any reliance on flying on the aircraft type, club suite, etc showing currently.
I’ve had so many changes and cancellations, it’s a bonus if a flight even operates anywhere close to the day or time planned.

Hello, any recent update on Dubai? We are thinking of going after Xmas. Joker tickets were in short supply, so someone is going!. Also considering a Hilton, if there is any advice here (I will check the relevant forum). From my reading, it seems you do not have to get a Visa in advance, but a Covid-PCR within 96 hours of arrival.
Any tips of info much appreciated.

Both the EK and BA DXB flights seem surprisingly full for the next month (EK is running 4 x A380 a day to LHR...) as Dubai is one of the few no quarantine places with sun still letting in UK visitors.
I have never stayed at any of the Hilton Group hotels in Dubai, but I understand the WA DIFC is probably considered the best hotel in absolute terms, however, this is more a business hotel so if you want a beach holiday the WA Palm Jumeirah is probably considered the best choice (albeit this will probably be pretty pricey in the period after Christmas).

So of course I've now found out both the 109 outbound, AND our 108 inbound has been cancelled. Sigh... the auto rebook to the 105 on the way out is ok, only an hour difference. But rebooking to the 106 on the way back, nope, a 1.35am departure may work for commuters but it doesn't work for me on holiday!

Was able to change the booking through MMB to the 104.
I then saw that 104 had 2 Avios CW seats available, but had to call up to get those. All in all a good result.

I've just had a 108 in April cancelled. Was booked in WT+, and the auto rebook put us on the 106. No thank you!

This is July by the way, so a lot of changes taking place on this route.
Anyway, will have to call again tomorrow when they're open...

Hilton offering 100% buy points bonus. We have 5 nights at the Palm Waldorf over Christmas and buying points plus 5-4-4 means we save about 65%. Will be a lower saving after New Year admittedly.

Arrived at DXB T3 this morning. On going into the line for immigration, someone asked in a cursory manner if we had test results already and we said yes.. but at that point weren't asked to prove it. The immigration officer asked to see the test result at the desk when checking passports etc.
After that there were no more checks and no one asked for the public health declaration forms. So I assume the on-arrival testing is done prior to immigration and they give you some sort of receipt to show the immigration staff.. admittedly I wasn't really looking for the testing area but I didn't actively see it. Anyone know where it is?

Yes I want the 104 as well but as it's a BAH booking, not letting me do it online (although it will let me accept the 106!). Also in WT+ on the way back, which is fine for a day flight...

Admittedly no club suite right now as we're on 789s both ways, but I have a feeling this may not be the last change I have to deal with before next July!

Our Jan flight changed from 777 to a350 so very happy to try CS for the first time. Staying at One&Only Royal Mirage which hopefully is as nice as it look. Have never been to Dubai before.
Can anyone who has been recently suggest a sensible time to book a pick up? Land at 7.45am - is it very slow getting through? We will have tested already.
