On a point of pedantry, I think it was 5x weekly, but have had my Tuesday 10th/17th canx, moved to Wednesday 11th/18th.
3x week to restart seems actually credible and the WTP/CW seat maps actually look reasonably busy.

Its still "officially" 2 flights a day, however it will go to one flight.

The one daily flight is still going though, this resumed in July.

However i will always remember that flight to my wedding, when we were drinking in the lounge and had to run to the C gates!

IST is down to x19 weekly from x21 weekly for November.
I guess that, the 19 weekly would jump down to 7 or 14 weekly, in the upcoming dates.

Saw availability yesterday for 1 Nov DEN to LHR. Just tried to book 1 Nov, for a team member, and it was gone.

//Edit

Just saw Scotflyer80's post. Explains a lot.

Can I just clarify- if a recently made avios booking is cancelled by BA, one can re-book the trip to alternative dates without there necessarily being avios seats currently available on that day / route?

sorry, moved the above to alt thread...

I'm booked on BA 99 (LHR-YYZ) in CW November 9th (avios booking). Anyway to tell if it will be the 787-9 or -10?
Also, how would one grab an F seat (since F sold as CW) ? It currently won't allow me to select a seat .

Thankxs

I think BA are being totally disingenuous and behaving appallingly.

The new winter timetable has BA flying 4 times a week to SCL which, as I have already mentioned before, is pretty unlikely as Chile is still in a state of catastrophe and no one is allowed in except Chilean residents.

However, SCL has, and still is, on the schedule. First flight of the winter due to dep 1st Nov and it was scheduled and running until this afternoon. It has now been canx and appears that people have been moved on to the Nov 3rd departure which is still listed as running but I bet does not.

Waiting until T-14 days and a few hours to cancel a service you know you can't run (where are the crew going to overnight if not allowed in) is sh*t. Leaving the rest of the service still in the schedule to receive the same treatment is also sh*t. The latest state of catastrophe was announced in mid Sept to run until end of Dec so BA have known for a long time that things probably won't run but instead choose to make it difficult, cut down on people's ability to change etc etc. I think it's pretty obvious that BA's winter timetable is not going to survive and forward bookings must surely have shown that.

BA should publish a working timetable, if things get better then just add some services which is probably quite easy to do and stop messing us all around.

MLG,

I think BA are now doing OK.

Have ticket and don't think you'll be able to fly / don't want to fly: get a future travel voucher.

Try and keep the business going: persuade the owners (i.e. the shareholders) to cough up billions of pounds.

It takes weeks to schedule staff, re-arrange catering, fuelling etc etc. So keeping stuff in the schedule for as long as possible, to make a return to the air as quickly as possible, is fully understandable.

Governments also change their minds frequently - not just Boris or Donald! So very difficult to plan schedules.

There will be special arrangements for aircrew. For example: A neighbour was one of three sets of crew on a Virgin flight to Shanghai - basically one crew flew out, one back and one did the cruise. All stayed on board during the few hours they were in China.

It's a hard time, and no-one is perfect - and that includes large organisations and governments. The good thing about BA is that, in many respects, it is allowing us to make our own decisions.

If you can't fly somewhere, it is usually because that place does't want you - not that BA won't fly you (albeit a day or two late)
