Part of itinerary cancelled - options?

OK well my OH had BRU-LHR-HND/ ICN-LHR/LGW-AMS booked. Due to fly end Sept? Now the LGW-AMS flight has been cancelled > He doesnt actually want this flight. Can he claim a refund/FTV for this part only and leave the rest intact?

If a leg is cancelled by BA then a whole cash refund can be requested. All details in the main thread:

Covid-19 BA Rebooking/Cancellation/Refund HELP & ADVICE *No Speculation etc*

If your flight is cancelled by BA:
Commercial booking: Your options are: cash refund OR Future Travel Voucher (FTV) OR rebooking OR Avios credit
Redemption booking: Your options are: full refund of cash and Avios OR FTV OR rebooking.
BA Holidays booking: You should be given a refund pro-actively.

If your flight is cancelled by BA - any flight in the PNR - you can get a full refund so long as you booked directly with BA. You can only get a refund by telephoning BA. Refunds are taking between a few hours to a few weeks to be repaid, depending on the sort of booking made. If you don't wish to travel between now and 31 July 2020 you can opt for an eVoucher valid for travel until 30 April 2022, though flights from May 2021 are not currently bookable - flights are enabled at 355 days before departure. Vouchers such as 2-4-1 are also thereby extended. You can do this even if the flight is operating. The best advice we can give is to delay opting for an eVoucher options until the last moment, since if BA cancel your flight you have more options. BA have also adjusted the Standard Customer Guidelines so that if BA cancel the flight you can be rebooked to anytime in 12 months after you originally bought the ticket, so long as there is space in the cabin - there is no need to have a fare bucket available or Avios availability. If you choose the Avios credit you will get between 108 to 126 Avios per GBP of your fare. Note posts in this thread before 28 April may now be inaccuarate since the current policy was widened up on that date.

I had similar with a canceled leg at the start of the itinerary and was able to remove that flight from the booking, leaving the rest in tact. I even got a small refund for the cancelled leg.

Best bet would ring up and find out. I suspect they they could be accommodating so they don't have to refund you.

There will probably be an alternative departing from LHR if flying the itinerary is desired. Obviously at no additional cost to you. and SonTech is probably right in his assessment of how( and why) accommodating they are likely to be.

Given this is all for late September I'd wait to see what else changes.

As others have indicated, in the circumstances it's not unlikely that BA would be flexible and adjust the booking to remove the final LGW-AMS segment, but that's only worth bothering with once you're confident that LHR-HND and ICN-LHR will both go ahead, that your partner will be allowed to take those flights and that he wants to do so.
