Accepting flight changes - deadline?
I have some LGW flights in September that have now been moved to LHR. I'll probably want to take the LHR flights, but I'd like to keep open the possibility of cancellation as long as possible.
Does anyone happen to know how long I have to accept or decline the flight changes in MMB? Am I allowed to leave it until much closer to the time?
Thanks for any help!

If your LGW service is cancelled, you have 6 years to claim the refund. If you want to travel on the replacement LHR service you best ensure ticketing is complete by 24 hours to departure. If you want an FTV or Avios credit (commercial bookings only) then you best do it in the next few months, but it can be after the original date of travel.

Along the same line, I have had a flight to LGW moved to LHR, but I actually want to cancel it, so I was hoping BA would cancel. Now they have, but when I try to cancel it wants to give me a voucher. This was an Avios booking, so I was under the impression that I could cancel for a refund with a 35 pound penalty. How can I get the refund?

You need to call. You haven't been able to request a full refund online since late March.

However flight numbers remain the same and ticket numbers remain visible in MMB so does this actually need to be reticketed? Or can we simply leave things alone and turn up for flights?

Had an October FAO return flight moved from LGW to LHR. When trying to accept changes it gives an error message which will presumably require a phone call to BA to sort.

There is a natural desire to sort out airline problems immediately, but unless you are travelling in the next 24 hours you can generally leave things for a bit.

I used to want to sort things out ASAP, human nature I suppose.
But in these circumstances there's no rush.If you are wanting a cancellation, yes just wait it out.
I would add the vouchers for some bookings can be better than a refund.
