First lounge.. please go upstairs to business

Turned up with my son today who is 10 and no scruff at the First Lounge and was repeatedly pointed by the lady checking in that i should go upstairs to the J lounge even as i was Gold.

eventually i was let in, but told me to goto the left side of the F lounge only.

totally weird experience given the lounge wasnt busy at 11am today.

Where was the lady mentioned? Check in, First Wing landside or GF airside entrance?

There was a post a couple weeks back, by someone saying they had a problem getting into the CCT with a CCR card. Sorry I don't remember which thread it was posted in so I can't link it.

It was in the main https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/brit...confirmed.html thread; not a problem per se:

Some doubt at the entrance that my Concorde Room Card should let me in, but it did...

Did she say why you should go to the J lounge?

You shouldn’t need to when they’ve been trained to look at the boarding pass, which shows your status.

What is special about the right side of the lounge? They don't want kids near the restrooms?

I was trying to work this out too, but can't fathom it.

(There are washrooms both sides of the lounge.)

Do they want to push the kids towards the entrance to the CCT to foster some impression?

well it'd definitely encourage me to turn back and not go near that CCT, so in some respects, it may be great repellent!

Are there rest rooms in the Flounge? I thought they were only in CCR. Nice if they have them but given how busy the lavatories get they need more of those.
