Business travel is pretty much dead, so I think we are going to see a massive pivot to leisure destinations for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't be surprised if LIS started being served from LCY.

I just saw this figure online. It shows the top 20 busiest routes from the UK in Aug 2020. Gone are LHR-JFK and LHR-HKG but look at Istanbul. It’s really jumped in popularity.

This indicates why BA have upped to 3x daily on the LHR-IST route for October.

from what you can read here and on other platforms, a 14 day stay in Turkey is a very popular gateway to enter the united states.

Thanks for that info, James91. Whats still confusing me is that the BA website is continuing to offer MLA -LHR tickets for sale.

Is this list really accurate? Trinidad and Tobago is on it for example, but you go to the FCO page for it, and it says: The Trinidad and Tobago government has closed its borders to all international flights indefinitely. Sea borders are also closed indefinitely to all vessels including yachts.

Another option for sun-lovers would be Dominican Republic, no entry restrictions now and cheap as chips (under $100 a day all-inclusive), with very regular (several times a day) flights to many US cities. To get there you would need to go LHR > MAD > SDQ on Iberia, or LHR > PAR > SDQ/PUJ.

Geneva is mentioned as 14x weekly for october. It is bookable for 2x daily until 24 oct on ba.com. Yet, 25 oct has 9 flights! As a customer, how would I know which flights will be operated and will align with my connection? Why can't they clarify their schedule for a day which is 28 days out? Sadly, I won't be using BA for my trip on 25 oct...

The 25th October marks the start of the winter timetable. This is why there is a clear shift in frequencies. What you’re seeing is the frequencies planned for Nov/Dec.

I would expect flights to be cancelled about 16 days out if Switzerland is still on the quarantine list.

interesting development reading these. Mexico has moved south and ended up in South America. Seemed to jump Central America all together. I shouldn't poke fun at BA tho, having myself made the error of putting LHR-VIE-LCY on the list of potential routes for Swiss, when I of course meant Zurich

Does anyone know why the Kos frequency in October has suddenly dropped? Looked earlier today and there were many more flights.
