No email from BA but MMB shows16:35 LHR - PKX 07 Oct 2020 BA 0089

Cancelled. That's all 4 flights of the trip now gone 3 weeks before it was due.

My BA 66 PHL to LHR early October just got cancelled - ugh. This is the 6th cancellation on this booking now.

BA have moved me onto a connecting flight with minimum fuss so all good.

OTP cancellations

My OTP (Bucharest) flight was cancelled for October and is now down to one a day and on booking for November and December the situation is similar - down to one return flight a day.

needless to say I took the refund, massive weight off my mind! Just hope I can still go to Turkey now!
funny I am in Cancun now and Mexico has NO restrictions on entry, and on UK side its just a quarantine. not sure how much looser it can be at this day and age!

Can someone help. Just completed a 4 sector European itinerary in Club. BA cancelled various sectors several times. On 2 occasions they cancelled a flight and offered alternative flights. Despite them being poor alternatives I had no option but to accept or be stranded. Then on BOTH occasions, within 2/3 days, they reinstated the original flights - same flight numbers and very similar timings. On first occasion I called BA and was immediately put back on original flight but next occasion they refused...on account that I had accepted the alternative and that was it....or pay to be transferred back to my original flight! Now that may be strictly correct and according to the rules but to me is ethically and morally wrong. What is stopping BA cancelling a flight and transferring all booked passengers onto alternative flights then reinstating the original flight and charging more for it. Surely this can’t be right? I have been in touch with Exec Club but they are just reinforcing the same message! Not sure where to go next with this. Any ideas?

Hmmm. That's odd. Yeh the restrictions are 100 at UK end with 14 day Q. Mexico never implemented anything, though rules in cancun regarding curfew etc did get strict for a while, but have now been relaxed.

See cancun still got sale in October. Appears no F at all, so guessing they intend to use a 3 class plane on route.

I received an email this morning from BA telling me that they changed my seat due to "operational reasons". What they failed to actually inform me about is that the "operational reason" is all flights LHR-SEA have been cancelled for 10/17, so the system moved me to the flight on 10/18 but without also updating my connecting flight. The agent I spoke to thought she had seen everything this year but had never seen a misconnect like that before. Full refund approved.

What you describe is actually entirely normal. Basically it rebooks the cancelled flight first without reference to any connecting flight. At some point the system would pick that up and rebook the later flight too. Obviously once you are notified of the first cancellation you can also call in to rebook the connecting flight too.

Spoke to a TA I know and who has solid connections in BA. Seems that BA242 and BA243 (Mexico City) is confirmed for being up and running again. Fingers crossed it sticks

Did BA go back to one a day for LAX?

Don't see BA262 in early October anymore.

So I have checked my records:

- For the period between the start of July and mid-December, I have held 15 BA bookings (either partly or wholly)

- By now, all 15 of them have suffered some cancellations;

- 9 of the 15 have already had more than one cancellation (my record is 6 flights out of 6 on a single booking). Each time, the cancellations have been successive, not synchronous

- No two cancellations have been announced on the same day, so across the short period of about 3 months and those fifteen bookings I have had to deal with cancellation/changes emails about 30 different days

This simply makes BA unreliable. Note, I'm stopping at mid-Deceber on purpose but I already have some cancellations for January and February for some long haul and some LGW flights.

BA2694 flight to Faro on 09 Oct 2020 has been cancelled.
Been moved onto BA2691 45 minutes earlier, so assume a consolidation.

Now to decide whether to accept or cancel the whole trip. Quarantine rules are likely to remain i'd imagine.

BA0450 LHR-PMI 03Oct cancelled (12:45 departure). Only remaining choices non-stop are 0625 BA0496 or 0725 BA2570 for the day...
Or a connection through MAD BA to Iberia Express...
I will sleep on it. I will still need to get CPH-LHR 02 Oct in time to catch either flight, so one more day of vacation burned.
