Our return from Kos in October has had a slight timing change, leaving 40 minutes earlier.

We have a connection back to Manchester on the 2100 same day, but I’m still expecting that to be Culled. There’s still 4-6 flights showing per day in October. I’m anticipating having to stay over at Sofitel and go back next day, which isn’t too bad. It’s a separate wrap around booking so it’s with us. Unless they retime the last Saturday flight to be no earlier than 17:00 we could still make a connection. But I’ve not seen any afternoon flights on a Saturday in September so assuming this will still happen in October.

Awaiting with bated breath!

Menorca flights cancelled for 7th Oct, part of our BA holiday. Will wait until they contact me, as they said they would, to see if they can offer any alternatives. Husband doesn’t fancy Greece! Portugal maybe.

Portugal has just been taken off the list of travel corridors...

Thanks, I was thinking more of Madeira which is okay. Better phone them tomorrow in case the flights start filling up.

The only problem is if BA start cancelling LIS flights due to low demand. If it flies, you'll need to fill in the passenger locator form but you'll be allowed to transit without issue.

Could this post from the CDC indicate that restrictions being lifted for US travel could be coming (eventually)?

https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2...assengers.html

Full article link above but this is the interesting paragraph:

Beginning September 14, 2020, the USG will remove requirements for directing all flights carrying airline passengers arriving from, or recently had a presence in, certain countries to land at one of 15 designated airports and halt enhanced entry health screening for these passengers. Currently, enhanced entry health screening is conducted for those arriving from, or with recent presence in, China (excluding the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau), Iran, the Schengen region of Europe, the United Kingdom (excluding overseas territories outside of Europe), Ireland, and Brazil.

The way I read it, the travel ban is still on, but flights can now land at any airport. Maybe a LAS or a CLT flight back on the menu eventually.

Great news, I hope that this sticks like this.
However, the second and third daily flight is loaded until 24 October.

Correct. Potentially very handy for Americans and others exempt from the ban, but it makes no difference to anyone else. Nonetheless, a step in the right direction.

Still can’t see the Presidential Proclamation being lifted any time soon though, with the UK’s infection rates going in the wrong direction.

Potentially optimising the schedule to connect transatlantic? Turkey is one of the few places Americans can travel right now - restoring the night stop offers connection into various AA and BA flights. IIRC there is plenty of PPE cargo on this route though an A320 can't haul much

But to increase it to a higher frequency than it was at before COVID? And then it once again falls to a daily in November/December.

Turkey is one of an ever-decreasing number of short-haul destinations BA flies to that has no requirement to quarantine upon return.

BA may as well chuck planes at it and see if people go for it.

Makes sense to me. Turkey’s one of the few remaining countries popular with British tourists that doesn’t (currently) require a test or quarantine on arrival or self-isolation on return.

With France, Spain, Greece and now Portugal all effectively off-limits to most, it seems logical for BA to increase capacity to a country that isn’t while it still can.
