Interesting little addition:

Free lounge access on selected holidays

Book a holiday as part of the Flash Sale and benefit from access to our airport lounge before you set off on your holiday.

Simply spend 1,000 or more per person on a holiday for travel between 1 August - 30 September and everyone on your booking can experience the comfort and style of a British Airways lounge.

As long as your booking was made after 3rd March I think you should be able to cancel your booking for a future travel voucher under the 'Book With Confidence' policy and then use that voucher to book the cheaper holiday, no?

Edit: scratch that, appears from the wording that you would forfeit the value of any non-refundable hotel booking in that case; hopefully someone else has a better suggestion!

Yes, don't click signs marked "Flash Sale" more than 24 hours after booking.

More seriously, I presume the Flying With Confidence provision applies if departing before the end of August. so your booked BAH (or indeed flights only) could be turned into an FTV for another purpose, provided your hotel wasn't booked on inflexible terms in the case of BAH.

Alternatively, look on the bright side and book a second holiday to take advantage of the Sale.

More information on the Flash Sale - with a 1 week booking window - at the end of this thread, unusually it includes lounge access for some BAH bookings.
When is the next BA sale?

7. Sale fares are available on British Airways operated services between the following destinations; London Heathrow and Malaga, Corfu, Ibiza, Mallorca, Barcelona (BCN), Rome (FCO), Marseille, Nice, Valencia, Pisa, Athens, Palermo and Split.
Has BA got something against Malta?

CWS you mentioned departing before end of August. How does that fit with Flying with Confidence? We are flying in September.

Since you booked after March (given the context of your original post) then you are covered until next year with BWC.

From the Ts & Cs: T5 lounge only, 3 hours max before scheduled departure time and subject to lounge capacity. It's a good deal though if you were already planning on spending the required amount.

I've tried to make a couple of dummy bookings for this sale and there appear to be quite a few defects with the booking pages. I couldn't complete any booking so I wonder if BA are surprised if bookings are lower than they might have expected??

Yes that is interesting, and perhaps indicative of a recognition that there needs to be a tiny shift of focus from business to leisure traffic.

Only for a limited time but if it were considered a successful experiment and extended by BA, it would be a definite selling point for me in considering future BA Holidays bookings. I'm perpetually irritated that there's no way to buy extra lounge access for the kids in tow (as they always are...), and all our LH holidays go well over the 1000pp mark, but rarely go further than WTP. Fingers crossed they do it for next Easter.

Also a pity it doesn't help with our Santorini trip in August but as that was barely 200pp, I probably can't argue...

LHR T5 Lounge Offer

Heathrow T5 Lounge Offer
Spend over 1000 per person on a European flight + hotel package & get complimentary access to the Galleries Club Lounge at LHR Terminal 5 for use up to 3 hours before departure. Book by 23 July for travel between 01 Aug - 30 Sep 2020. Lounge access is offered subject to availability
If spending over 1000 per person Id want Club Europe anyway! Which comes with Lounge access.... a very strange (non)offer!
