I am interested as I am doing a b2b - what could possibly go wrong?
The 300s were historically used for EI's long-haul departures so can take a 330 and I expect a 777 too. But I think you're far more likely to get bussed.

Glad I didn’t book.

Tomorrow’s 777 flight to FRA now scheduled to be an A321.

Widebody aircraft on shorthaul routes

Will BA ever reintroduce 788 on European routes i flew on this plane to ARN last year on BA780 and have also seen it fly to MAD in the past but I currently am only seeing single aisle being used to Europe.

There’s lots of threads on this already which I’m sure others will link to but essentially your best bet is select flights to HEL on AY or select flights to MAD on IB.

They will if there is cargo demand. By nature this tends to mean it pops up last(ish) minute.

They are sending the 787 and 777 to FRA throughout April on most days. Unlike usual, these were added more than just a couple of weeks in advance. But no there is nothing which is regularly scheduled like MAD used to be.

Judging by the recent longhaul cancellations due to a shortage of widebody aircraft, I wouldn’t think using them on shorthaul is an option at present. Nice while it lasted though!
