Are the LGW flights going to be operated from LHR?

Also, the 777 that I'm booked to BDA and back has four classes, but the seat map shows the economy as 10 across, which is the three class configuration for LGW 777s. They also have First, or it's just a mistake?

Three of the 777s at Gatwick have first class, old style club world, but have been refurbished with the new economy 10 abreast seating.

This flight, BA285, was cancelled in June/July so I am surprised they kept it, so far, for August. I think you still have a chance for cancellation.

This flight (0287) was retained in June/July but on a 789. It was just swapped to a 789 a few hours ago so I don't expect that flight to get canceled. I put my daughter and her husband on that flight, assuming they still choose to fly.

Ugh there's no flight that makes it to LHR to connect from US early enough, so I have to leave a day earlier and spend the day in London now. It hasn't canceled yet so they won't rebook me, grrr.

I was planning to make a connection from PHL and my connecting flight seems that it would operate and to not risk the situation ( Mandatory 14-day self-isolation for pax arriving from the UK ) I was planning to rebook my itinerary with QR to JFK and then with a separate AA domestic ticket.

And, unless the US extends the restrictions and the approved airport requirement, I think that the aircraft change to 787-8 is the sign that BA wants to operate this route and with AA, they could fill up 2 Boeing 787's every day.
The CS was a consequence of the route, more than choosing the route to try CS. I still have it on the return flight from PHL to LHR in October, if it still operates as planned, but who knows.
I think that originally the AA flight was scheduled to be a 777 but I note its gone 787, so I guess the loads aren’t looking great, unless cargo was a big factor in wanting the route to operate.
Currently I am the only passenger in J with a reserved seat on my flight in August, so we’ll see how busy it gets nearer the time.

Does anyone know what the situation is at the moment if you’re transmitting through US to another country that is open to tourists?

Given all transits in the US have to clear the border I would assume there's no chance currently

Looks like it's time to cancel short haul. Just got cancellation notice for LHR-BCN on 21st of August.

Why wouldn't it? I'm not suggesting that we'll be treated differently for certain but before Trump implemented a ban on UK travelers, there was about a period of a week where it didn't apply to the UK, only Europe, if you cast your mind back to March. I'm fairly certain that the borders with the US will be back open to Europeans over the next couple of months, the question is whether we alleviate our quarantine if you come back from the Americas...

It has never been possible to do an airside transit through the US. You must enter the US, which currently is not possible for many people.

Trump's exclusion of the UK was partly political and partly due to the initial lack of understanding that it would be impractical not to include the UK. When a ban is lifted, it will probably be a blanket European one, rather than individual countries, as freedom of movement makes the latter approach difficult to implement. As has been reported elsewhere, there is little appetite in the WH for any progress here.

JMK-LCY on some sundays at 16.45 seems to have re-appeared.

What makes you so sure? The US recorded its highest daily case count of Covid-19 yesterday, the pandemic is accelerating there after the way things were reopened too quickly and the politicization of mask wearing. The thoughts running through my mind right now after my August flights were cancelled is whether I'll be able to travel to the US in Spring 2021. I'm not as sure on that as I was this time last week.
