List of Lounges Currently OPEN to BA Passengers (open wiki for details)

This wiki includes details of open lounges accessible to premium (F/J or Gold/Silver) passengers travelling on BA operated services, either within the terminal BA depart from or accessible via airside transfer.

Other lounges may be accessible for passengers willing to transfer landside to other terminals or concourses, although this is generally not recommended due to time constraints as a result of needing to re-clear security. Additionally, some airports may offer pay-in lounges which are not otherwise accessible by BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently).

Most open lounges are operating with a limited food and beverage service, and other services may be unavailable or modified.

For opening hours, please check the oneworld lounge listing at https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location= which is now being regularly updated.

If your airport isn't listed below, this probably means there is no lounge available for BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently) - please check the oneworld listing for the most up-to-date information.

Lounges won't reopen at T5 for a while.

In the meanwhile, is there a place where someone with a bad back can lie down arriving from longhaul and awaiting over 5 hours for a connection?

5 hours is a bit too short for this, but about half of Heathrow's hotels will be open from 1 July and most of the rest will be open within a week or two. The Sofitel though isn't fully open.

A lot of the seating has been cordoned or boarded off, either whole blocks of it, or alternate seats. There are some more comfortable seats at the back of Starbucks towards gate 12, it's been kind-of blocked off by some tables on the entrance area but no-one is going to stop you if you wriggle past them. There are also some better seats in the gate 20 area and in T5B (go away from the main patthways and immediately around the gates). Read the Passageway guide for departing passengers in the Forum Dashboard to be sure you know how to get back to T5A.

Yes, but if my memory serves correctly, the date for this particular stopover is 2 July. If I've got that wrong it would be good for the OP to be more specific.

Do you know which Heathrow hotels are opening on 1st ? I need to stay over Fri evening before a Saturday flight but couldn’t find any taking reservations. Also for the ones that are open will they have catering / bar facilities or will I need to bring food to the hotel?

Where are you looking? It's not difficult to find hotels, some offering rock bottom rates. Use the Hilton website, you will a few open around either LHR or around say Paddington. So to take a few that I've been using recently, there is HGI Hatton Cross, the DT in Bath Road and the Metropole, just for starters. The other hotel chains also have hotels open (Ibis I saw was open for instance). For catering, it will largely be takeaway or room service. So the DT has a short menu of about a dozen items, reasonably priced for them, and a doggy bag for breakfast. The Metropole has turned their cafe into a limited service takeway menu, including hot breakfasts. If you don't have an early flight on Saturday then you may as well use the Metropole and try and use the Connect service to T5 (one advantage of T4's closure!). It's one of the UK's biggest hotels so there is no shortage of space, and there are plenty of catering options on the hotel's doorstep. The DT has a somewhat grim but still functional Tesco Express over the road, plus Dominos is working on a delivery only basis but it's so close that delivery won't be problematic.

It is, on a half hourly basis, so you need to time yourself a bit. But the Connect service is only taking 30 minutes compared to HEX's 22 minutes and gives you the Oyster discount and daily cap. That's also 30 minute intervals, however unlike HEX you cannot take ANY online timetable source seriously, Connect's service provision is seriously screwed up and seems to work on a random basis. However it you get to Paddington / T5 and there is a service, hop on. Both hotels are good choices for those bits of London that are still operating and it's scarcely any longer than Hatton Cross. I'm sure you've noted the room rates....

Connect That branding ceased when TfL took over. What's happening with the introduction of the 'new' HEX trains and therefore allowing the crossrail trains to start operating on that route?

Sorry, yes, it's TfL Rail. But everyone in Heathrow and Paddington still calls it Connect.

One of the Hiltons with low rates in July is the one at T4. I have an early flight out of T5, and in the Sofitel's absence would usually choose this hotel, but does anyone know if it has been rendered entirely inaccessible by the mothballing of T4?

That passageway from T4 is indeed shut as well as the rest of T4. All entrance is from the front door of the hotel of the hotel, essentially road access only. So I'd imagine you will be looking at a taxi limo in terms of ingress and egress, however the TfL bus stops for Starlight Way services 482 and 490 are the other options for the adventurous. Should be a quiet spot!
