List of Lounges Currently OPEN to BA Passengers (open wiki for details)

This wiki includes details of open lounges accessible to premium (F/J or Gold/Silver) passengers travelling on BA operated services, either within the terminal BA depart from or accessible via airside transfer.

Other lounges may be accessible for passengers willing to transfer landside to other terminals or concourses, although this is generally not recommended due to time constraints as a result of needing to re-clear security. Additionally, some airports may offer pay-in lounges which are not otherwise accessible by BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently).

Most open lounges are operating with a limited food and beverage service, and other services may be unavailable or modified.

For opening hours, please check the oneworld lounge listing at https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location= which is now being regularly updated.

If your airport isn't listed below, this probably means there is no lounge available for BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently) - please check the oneworld listing for the most up-to-date information.

My guess would go for the Galleries Club South to be closed and only operate the Galleries First alongside with the CCT.
The lounges were closed through lockdown despite handling the same transfer passengers, until pubs could reopen. Not sure why this time round would be different.

Whether transit passengers are allowed or not isnt going to be important if the law doesnt allow the lounges to remain open. Atm it appears likely they may shut since the whole thrust of the restrictions seems to be to close everything other than takeaways.

I am not 100% aware of wheater the UK restrictions apply for international transit zones. In most countries, it doesn't.
If there is a law against the opening of lounges, obviously they would be closed.

I have made my guess from the Lufthansa & Austrian example where Germany and Austria are in lockdown, though their lounges remain open.

That can't be right. I cannot think of any legal way that lounges can remain open. Hospitality is closed down, no leisure travel, social contacts minimised.

Agreed. All lounges should be closed, travel purely for very essential purposes and functional. Folk should not be planning / hoping to go on holibobs over this next month.

The Scottish regulations that have shut pubs specifically dont apply to airside premises (
which is why the Aspire lounge at EDI is still open and serving booze). No idea if England will do the same but similar carve outs do exist in some English laws (for example plastic bag charges).

There is an explicit exclusion of places airside serving food and drink in Scotland even up to level 4. I don't think this has been the approach in England tho, and the original lockdown in March had no airside exemption. Combined with the restrictions in movement and travel which this impending lockdown will include (there are no restrictions for movement & travel for level 4 in Scotland by way of comparison), I would be surprised if there was any airside exemption now.

Also to address another point, lockdown laws have applied airside in airports so far. The only time some provisions do not apply are when there are explicit exemptions, like in the current Scottish level system in relation to sales of food and drink for consumption in premises which are airside at an airport.

Not surprising, but sad to hear - it must be really hard on staff when this happens. Not that they're alone, but still.

Head for Points saying they think they can stay open, although its probably not economical.

"4.15.5 seems to imply that airport lounges can remain open and serve food and drink."

Raffles / Rob is correct, so long as the service is airside. Landside the same restrictions apply as to the rest of England. But from what I can make out, T5 will be largely bereft of both passengers and flights as of next week. Hopefully some of the concessons such as Starbucks will remain open.

Staff in the CCT have said no decision has been shared with them regarding lounge closures. BS are waiting on BA. They expect to learn the decision after 10:00 GMT today. Shops in the terminal are confirmed to close from tomorrow.

During the first lockdown the only shop that stayed open in T2 was WH Smith. I imagine it will be similar again.
