List of Lounges Currently OPEN to BA Passengers (open wiki for details)

This wiki includes details of open lounges accessible to premium (F/J or Gold/Silver) passengers travelling on BA operated services, either within the terminal BA depart from or accessible via airside transfer.

Other lounges may be accessible for passengers willing to transfer landside to other terminals or concourses, although this is generally not recommended due to time constraints as a result of needing to re-clear security. Additionally, some airports may offer pay-in lounges which are not otherwise accessible by BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently).

Most open lounges are operating with a limited food and beverage service, and other services may be unavailable or modified.

For opening hours, please check the oneworld lounge listing at https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location= which is now being regularly updated.

If your airport isn't listed below, this probably means there is no lounge available for BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently) - please check the oneworld listing for the most up-to-date information.

But until the Government advise/confirm easing measures nobody can know for sure, so for now it remains speculation. If they do what their own self developed side of the tin instructions say, the correct date for two T5 lounges to be opened I'm sure has been mentioned up thread.

Currently temporary plans until T3/T4 reopen.

The noises coming from Westminster are very positive today and it appears (after SAGE advice and subject to 'Cabinet' approval) the PM will announce tomorrow some relaxation in social distancing and will give a firm nod to the reopening of the hospitality sector on 4 July subject to certain restrictions.

If this is announced as rumoured it will give the green light for lounges to start reopening. There will be changes, that's for sure. I understand there will be extra staff rostered in those (BA) lounges that do open, and refreshments will be ordered using an App.

Let's hope we truly are on the other side of this craziness and that our (hopefully temporary) 'new norm' will soon present itself for our collective delectation.

From afar, I'm sure I can hear a 'gaggle of GGLr's' who frequent here making loud celebratory noises

Gaggle? You should know PETER01 that the correct term for a group of GGLs is "an importance"

I knew it began with an I, just got my words mixed up

Looking forward to hearing of the new lounge experiences when they reopen

I think the official term is a self-importance of GGLs

Ok, so assuming some LHR lounges reopen on the 4th and are bound by the same rules as pubs and restaurants, itll have to be table service only - which would explain the app-based ordering system alluded to upthread.

In which case will there be no self-service food or drinks at all? Even pre-packaged snacks?

I'll be really interested to hear details once confirmed, or once someone here's experienced the reality of it, but if we get any lounge open it'll be a small drop of good news.

I don't think the App idea is workable but table service sounds perfect.

The app idea seems to be working at those AA lounges which have already reopened, though they offer a different style of service. Presumably, this will mark the end of made-to-order options at Galleries First, as the existence of the menu will be known to all

Why not? If Wetherspoons can manage it I don't see why BA can't?

I had the same thought although there are some differences in the lounge context:
  1. There is no incentive to wait for your order as you have not paid for anything, which could lead to food being prepared but no one to deliver it to.
  2. Similarly if the service or technology is inefficient people may just exit the lounge before their food is delivered.
  3. No table numbers in the lounges, although this could be rectified with stickers or similar.
Generally knocking together an app for this purpose at short notice could be problematic and I'm sure that the hospitality industry as a whole (excluding Wetherspoons and a few others) are wrestling with these ideas at the moment.
