Thanks. I know the app can never be trusted 100%, especially with all things status / reduced thresholds etc, but if you think I can take that expiry date as gospel then that’s great news 👍

Thank you, that’s reassuring.

Since you stated that you have reached the reduced silver requirement of 450 TPs and the expiry date of your card has been moved forward a year, I'd say you are good.

  • Everyone else still gets the 25% reduction in tier points until 31 December. This also applies if you want to qualify for a higher status level.
Does this mean if I get 480 by Dec 31

Card TP End Date June 23

Will I get a new silver card from July 23?

No, it means for everyone with a card expiring before 31 Dec is eligible for the reduction. So you’d need the 600.

That's not correct. Your card expiry date isn't relevant. You just need to have hit the 450TPs and 4 flights by 31 December 2022. In this case, allturnleft will get Silver until June 2024.

All good things must come to an end... I received an email yesterday morning:
Just to let you know, your Executive Club membership is now Bronze.
Now to remember whether the flair fields are in the profile... ah, yes: there they are.

Do they TPs and 4 flights have to post by 31-Dec or flown by 31-Dec? May have a flight on 30 or 31 Dec.

I think, but just think, I got it... Been reading through the Wiki, the "sum it all up" post and a few others, so just to verify whether I have understood this correctly:
  • Currently Gold, status valid till January 8 2023
  • If I earn 1,250 TP and make 4 flights on BA metal until December 31, 2022, then my Gold status is extended until January 8, 2024
Correct, yes or no?

Just a yes or no answer is sufficient (I know what "no" implies: the -25% rule doesn't work this way and the December 31 date is basically irrelevant, gotta earn 1,500 TP till January 8 2023 then).

Also, "yes" or "no" is shorter than berating me for not having read, understood, etc. just in case someone is tempted

Almost correct, but you only need 1125 tier points and 4 qualifying flights by 31st Dec 22, not 1250 TPs

Correct, yes or no?...
YES! But (as I understand it) those flights do not necessarily have to be on BA Metal. A qualifying flight, according to BAEC is, 'defined as those flights marketed or operated by British Airways and those flights marketed and operated by Iberia.'
  • 'Marketed' means the flight will have a BA flight number (in your itinerary or on your ticket).
  • 'Operated' means the aircraft that you travel on is a British Airways aircraft (including franchises and BACityflyer).
  • 'Marketed and operated by Iberia' means the flight will have an IB flight number and the aircraft you travel on is an Iberia aircraft (including franchises).
'Reward bookings and agency or industry discounted bookings are not eligible.' Neither are charters, as far as I am aware.
