The more I read the more I become confused. Maybe someone can enlighten me on my situation.

Memerbership: Gold
Membership ends: 8th July 20
Tier Points: 1280

Does the threshold of 1125 TP apply to my current memebership year meaning that I qualify for Gold membership until 8th July 2021?
If yes, do I benefit from exetension of one year until 8th July 2022?

Or am I a "July loser" meaning that I missed Gold shortly and get the extension now until 8th July 21?

Thanks in advance.

I read it that if you're currently Gold, it doesn't matter whether you have earned 0 TPs or 4995 TPs, you will be Gold now until 8th July 2021.
However, to renew Gold to July 2022, you will need to earn 1,125 TPs between 8 July 20 and 8 July 21.

I'm happy with this policy, especially for the CCR card part since I had very few chances to use it.
Now that things are clear, I can start again to plan for the next year.

I'm also curious to see if the 6 month extension to GUFs will be added to the previous one or not.

Raffles is reporting on HfP that anyone who currently meets the reduced TP thresholds off 225 for Bronze or 450 TP for Silver or 1,125TP for Gold will immediately get upgraded to that new level. It will take BAEC the next couple of weeks to reflect the change in status on your account.

Yes, you're an absolute winner in this particular lottery

You are not getting an "extra" year, you are just having your current status extended in to the next collection year.
That's not how it worked for the IT meltdown extension.

That were my first thoughts too.

But with this information my 1280 TP should qualify for Gold membership until 8th July 21 plus one year extension until 8th July 22.

That's the issue and where BA's email is quite misleading as it seems to promise a 12-month extension for all. However, if you have already qualified with a July year-end, you don't get any further extension. I have had this confirmed by the loyalty team already. Basically, those members with the lowest current TPs but a reasonably high status level will benefit the most from this which seems somewhat counter-intuitive.

Hm. Then I am one of those July losers. Hard to believe that April/May/June qualifiers benefits with the reduces threshold of 30% and now extension for one year. And July qualifiers get only one year no matter of current tier points.

Totally. Me too. And there will be less of a flight network and fewer business reasons to fly for the next few months, so we are hit double. If we were June renewals, we would have a full year of a much better schedule (June 2021-June 2022) to get those 25%-reduced tier points.

So I get my GGL status extended for 1 year, but no GUF’s for this year and next year only 25% discount applies only on status, not on GUF’s.
Why should I celebrate?
My Year End is November - I earned 1800 TPs between Nov 8th, 2019 and Feb 8th, 2020... a slightly disappointing to see those TPs essentially wasted with no way of them being recognized vis-a-vis GUFs (I only book 4-6 weeks ahead, so I only had 300-400 PT cancelled)

You are absolutely right. What a waste of my current 1280 TP

I'm a tad confused. Maybe someone can clarify what this means to my situation.

My TP year ends 8 Jul. I was upgraded to Gold last month after I contacted Exec Club explaining that my then already cancelled flights would have had me move Silver to Gold mid June.

Today I received the email stating I would get a 12 month extension, so does that mean I'll keep Gold until Jul 22? There seems to be discussion on here debating whether that if you've achieved the required TP's you may not receive the extension?🤔

Now this is what is confusing. My current status is already extended in to the next collection year - current expiry is Oct 21. Does this mean that when BAEC say "we’ve added 12 months extra onto your Silver Executive Club membership" that isn't true?
