Well I for one am very happy. I was bumped to Silver on Monday as I had the TP but was 2 flights short of the full requirements and now get 25 months of Silver membership.
Well done BA.

One scenario, which I think will be common to quite a few of us here, is this one from a family member :

Existing Silver, year end 8 Oct 2020. Already has 850 TPs, so has already requalified for Silver and was shooting for Gold.
From my understanding : if the member continued to collect TPs and did reach 1,500 by Oct 8 2020, then they would (as would be normal), attain Gold until Oct 2021 and then also get a year extension of Gold from Oct 2021 to Oct 2022.
And the number of TPs to be collected between Oct 2021 and Oct 2022 to renew Gold in Oct 2022 would be 1,125.

Is that correct ?
I think you are indeed correct. Emphasis on think.

Fair? Nope! If BA had acted immediately, as did other carriers, it would be consistent across the board.
Yes seems that the same applies to the year end 8-June as well unless I have misread it. Lets hope they go back and recognise that April - June flyers were significantly impacted as well

I thought I had this but now I'm not so sure.

My year end is November. I've got 3000 tier points already, so had qualified for Gold again anyway. Unlike others my card expiry date is December 2020, I'm guessing this should have been December 2021? If so, would this be extended to 2022? Also, if I make it to GGL this year. Is the extension at your new tier?

Anyway, i'm reading conflicting views on the reduced tier point thresholds. Does the reduction apply to your current year for upgrading to a new tier as well as re qualification the following year?

Irish based account, silver status and June year end. Haven't received an email yet. Maybe its to do with when your end date happens and sorting out what that means for each scenario.

It seems quite clear that the 25% reduction is towards the year after extension. So someone who is currently silver, will get another 12 months of silver - still needs to collect 1500 this year to attain gold? Next year they need 1125 to attain or retain gold.

Can anyone explain to me how this extension policy is different to:
- we will extend your current card expiry date by 12 months
- this is not the case if you have just dropped status any your card is in the extra 1 months grace period?

Is my understanding correct - asking for a friend?
Tier point year end 8 December 2020, currently Gold from y/e Dec 2019
Achieves say 400 TP - misses Gold requalification but is extended anyway until December 2021
Achieves 1125+TP - requalifies for Gold under own merit and therefore gets an extension to December 2022

Thank you for confirming.

BA confirmed my GGL status after 8 May 2020 without reaching the lower threshold....but based on a case by case analysis taking into account my cancelled flights and my uninterrupted GGL membership for the last 7 years.

Still the case?

Your Gold Guest List status would be valid until 08th November 2021 (with card expiry date 31 December 2021), to renew at Gold Guest List for 2021-2022 you would need to earn the reduced Tier points of 2,250 (or 3,750 for a Concorde Room Card) by 8 November 2021. After your 2021/2022 renewal you would need 3000 TPs for GGL or 5000 TPs for CCR for subsequent renewals.

I believe so. I doubt that BA will go back and look back all the cases they had for status extension. You are one of those who have their year ending within the extension so you automatically get the extension.

I'm at 890 TP's with a Sept year end. I've been at 890 since December and I was sure I would make it to Gold(moved over to BA from AA EXP). I guess I have no chance of making it to Gold. I would have preferred reduced TP's

Wondering if i understand the same:
My tier points: 2,185
Year ends: 08 Sept 2020
Card expiry date: 31 Oct 2021

Does that mean they will extend my status card expiry date to 31 Oct 2022 and then i have between 08 Sept 2020 and 08 Sept 2021 to re-qualify for Gold?
