Your points will be reset as normal at the end of your current membership year (8 October 2020).

All of these lovely extensions for lots of lucky forum members are beginning to remind me of that sinking feeling when waiting to be picked for the team at school. I already know I am going to be the bottom of the pile but I still have that distant hope that BAEC will take pity on me and the other July and August babies who couldn't benefit from lower thresholds

Minor data point from a March year ender...

Card expiry recently updated to Apr 2022 and now Tier Points to retain GGL reduced to 2250, so fair play BA - you have delivered on your promise.

I do wonder however what will happen if I accrue 0 TPs before Mar 9th 2021. I have a sneaking suspicion the IT will auto-downgrade me, even though in theory I should retain status. We shall see

What sort of soft landing for Gifted Gold after extension for a natural silver?

I'm a gifted Gold but a natural silver with a membership year end of September 2020. I've had the gifted gold status extended to end September 2021. However I have 650tp so pre COVID extensions would have had silver on my own tp earnings for 20/21 and then soft landed to Bronze for 21/22.

Now my understanding is that gifted Golds no longer get soft landings. So will BA IT be clever enough to move me from gifted extended Gold to Bronze in August 2021 or will it drop me to Blue - all assuming I don't earn the necessary tier points

It is hit and miss over whether gifted Gold's get a soft landing. Doing the 4 qualifying flights seems to have something to do with it - if you've had 4 cash segments on BA in the final year, you may get a Silver downgrade. If you don't, it's back to Blue. I'd like to be more specific but I'm working off a very small data set.

Current year is Silver with 1140 tp’s with silver card extended last week to Sept 2021. Today account showing that I’ve achieved gold on the lower threshold but card is still silver with expiry still showing 2021. Does anyone know whether I'll get the 2022 extension?

The irony. My giftee Golds and Silvers will enjoy their “upgraded” status one year longer to 2023, than I do as a merely “renewing” GGL until 2022.

Anyone who uses the phrase 'babies' in the context of the month their TP collection year ends in is being downgraded to Blue for Life with immediate effect. Or so I've heard.

Just relax and be happy, even though it's longer than yours.

Furthermore , rumour has it that:
'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

Still showing as Bronze member but the website was the right pointer. It already says "You have achieved Silver membership." - just gotta wait for the status to actually update.

Thanks!
