So in BA’s quietest period ever with barely any flights we have had:

1) A350 collide with 777 at Dubai on pushback
2) A380 damage taxiway at Chateauroux
3) 777 get covered in foam
4) 787 get pushed off taxiway onto grass

I am glad BA is more successful at flying planes than parking them :D :tu:

Double case of the wingwalker not doing exactly the job he/she's been paid to perform...

Great, you've saved the investigation team a fortune there!

Hey! Come on give them a break :D these planes aren’t used to being parked up and feeling abandoned and unused. I know how they feel! :D

Arguably a period of abnormal operations (reduced staffing, new protocols, unfamiliar destinations) is exactly when you would expect more, rather than less incidents.

Gotta say it's quite a creative way to get insurance to contribute to their cash flow :D

Better question is what does Edmonton need that BA is delivering? I could have hitched a ride from LHR and then made my way home to Vancouver by Air Canada.

There's been a BA 787 flying YEG and back since at least early May (when I started driving by YEG and paying attention). Funnily enough when we were re-opening Phase I, I'd hop around daily barbecues with neighbours. Since we live along the flight path, it's nice to have had some quiet lately. But recently around 5 PM, we can't help but notice the massive BA tail grace the skies above us, massive because we rarely get a widebody 'round these parts.

I also posted this thread last month: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/brit...arked-yeg.html

Why would cabin crew work these flights?

If carrying cargo in the cabin regulations require a minimum crew to keep the cabin safe from cargo accidentally shifting out of position etc.

And for fire safety. Passenger cabins tend not to have much in terms of fire suppressant outside of extinguishers. Most (semi-)automated fire suppressant systems work by reducing or eliminating the levels of oxygen in the air around the fire, which is not a situation humans react well to ;)
