I don't get SEZ being cancelled either; surely if Seychelles goes green (and I don't understand why it hasn't), flights will be reinstated? It seems like a perfect destination in the current climate - high spend, leisure orientated...

LHR-AUS will be returning, for 3x week at least.

https://www.austintexas.gov/news/bri...3zCd5-Kjy6ECWo
AUSTIN, Texas – Following a 17 month absence, transatlantic service will return to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, as British Airways will soon resume their popular nonstop service from Austin to London-Heathrow (LHR) on October 13.

Having operated in Austin since March 2014, British Airway’s resumed service is scheduled for three days a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, aboard a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Flight number BA190 will depart Austin at 8:05 p.m. and arrive in London at 10:10 a.m. the following morning. BA191 departs at 12:10 p.m. arriving in Austin at 4:45 p.m. All times are local.

A few updates:
  • London City - Munich/Nice will not operate in W21
  • Tomorrow is the last day of service for London City - Guernsey/Jersey and Edinburgh - Guernsey, with the routes not being on sale for S22
  • Providenciales will be served from LHR in W21, as a tag from Nassau.

TRN was moved from LGW to LHR for W21, well before the Gatwick news... How much in advance it will be clear if BA will actually operate the route at all this winter?
The first flight is scheduled on 31/10, and last year they went on and on cancelling every flight starting 3 weeks ca. from departure.

As many people will be, I'm currently booked on a LGW FAO flight next June that is currently in that no man's land situation whereby the flights are not on the schedule for obvious reasons, but we haven't had notification of whether the flight is cancelled or moving to LHR. As time goes on seats (actual seats) are disappearing from the LHR departure on the same day. Does anyone know roughly when we'll be notified of our options? I realise it's a long time away, however due to various reasons most of my trips are booked not long after the flights become available. Thanks.

LGW FAO 24 June. I maybe should have mentioned that's it's a standard Avios booking.

LHR MRU winter only (currently)
Interesting to see the return of MRU at LHR. I wonder if it does well that BA may consider bringing it back to LHR

so to answer your question, i don't think anyone has any real idea exactly who the LGW issue will play out so it may be a while before you hear anything for definite.

however, if your LGW flight is cancelled you would be rebooked on the LHR flight regardless of whether there is reward space. The LHR flight is far from full so i really wouldn't be concerned so far ahead

may well do. Remember pre covid LGW had evening departures to CPT, MLE and MRU. With MLE moved to LHR pre covid and CPT not returning to LGW, combined with spare LHR slots, the premium nature of MRU and LGW now left with just one evening long haul it would seem to make sense

Mauritius wasn't always an evening departure - it varied dependent on the day. Male and Cape Town were both seasonal routes anyway, so BA were comfortable with having a sole LH evening departure from Gatwick on various days of the week in the past. Though MRU is a more premium destination it does get support at both ends of the plane; whenever I flew it the aircraft was always generally full in all cabins.

You can be certain that at some point before your flight was scheduled to depart, you will find out whether it does or not. BA doesn't know yet which flights are going in November yet. Next June is not going to be at the top of their priority list.

Thank you. Nothing can be done about this, but as time goes by, the non LGW flights become more booked up, physical seats are booked, I potentially lose my row 1 seat that's been booked from the start. That's the frustrating part as it's one of the few BAEC perks that I appreciate. It's happened already with other flights over the coming winter schedule. That's life.

MRU was always an evening departure until a one per week Monday I think mid afternoon departure was added, loads were never as good on this due flight times. MLE was year round until it became seasonal but yes it’s right to say there was a time where there was only one evening departure, I just wonder post covid whether BA would just take the MRU back to LHR

you’re right regarding loads it was often full in all cabins.

Does anyone have information on LHR-CHQ (Chania, Greece) flights?
It looks bookable on the BA website, but has dropped off of Google flights. Should I be concerned?
Haven't yet booked, but was going to use a BA credit to do so.
