There's a KRK and WAW lunchtime on 23 August but I have no confidence those won't be cancelled.

I'm also booked RIX-LHR on 5 September and can see that going too. Any idea whether BA would move us onto the Air Baltic for free (this does carry a BA code I believe)?
I agree, I don’t feel confident they’ll start now - which is a real shame. Notably, they 4 new routes are not on sale for S22 either, unlike other new routes like Antalya and Perugia.

Can't speak about Perugia but
I know that BA wanted more slots for Antalya and Dalaman when the Turkish SHGM distributed the slots that were emptied after the bankruptcy of Monarch and Tui.
BA wouldn't like to lose the slots because Ryanair UK, Jet2, Wizzair and Easyjet would immediately grab those Antalya slots if BA leaves them.

Costa Rica is currently on the UK's red list and if they remain on the red list for the foreseeable future, I guess the suspension of this route would be extended again.
Thanks IST.
I can't see any direct flights LGW-SJO loaded on ba.com after 30th April. Any idea when May 2022 onwards might be updated? Am just starting to plan what will be my 3rd attempt to get to CR in summer 22 so was wondering whether I'll have the option to fly direct or whether I'll be looking to go via US or Madrid!

Any idea of the SEZ termination is permanent? Or is there a chance BA might load flights again at one point?

Thanks,

Thanks,
I think it was permanent, odd, I would have thought destinations like SEZ, MLE, MRU and Caribbean would be good use of aircraft premium leisure focus while business travel is slow to recover

With today's UK news allowing quarantine-free entry from EU and USA-------but NOT from Canada------afraid a restart of BA flts to YUL and YVR increasingly unlikely

perhaps even YYZ might become doubtfull Sept onwards

Unsure how UK would handle Canadian visitors who have CDC vaccine cards---which many had in Florida earlier this year

RIX suspended, well not even starting at all, this year. Might see if I can rebook onto AY for 100TP rather than 40 e/w

Toronto has been operating throughout the entire pandemic, so it isn't doubtful.

I have no effective crystal ball ... I was booked to fly to San Jose over xmas and BA have already cancelled my flight. We’re rebooked a few days earlier on another BA flight but I’m getting increasingly pessimistic. The route is only a few days a week at best, and if BA are already dropping odd days from the schedule over winter the possibility the whole route gets canned again over winter is very real.

Our plan B, if BA cancel flights this winter but keep the route running later in 22, will be to postpone, and fly at a later date. If they can SJO completely I might dig my heels in for a re-route on Iberia this winter. Like you, I really, really, want to go.

I started a rolling suspensions section (routes that have not flown since March, 2020, and which keep getting pushed back 1-2 months in advance, e.g. PHX, SAN). I've definitely missed many, so please add if you think of others.

Thanks for that!
It now looks like AUS-LHR got pushed out a week (from the last time I checked), with flights scheduled to resume on Monday 6 Sep. I'm scheduled to fly it that Wed, 8 Sep. Who wants to bet that will happen?

I would be happy to take the bet against it resuming by the 8th.

My original trip was summer 21, then rebooked summer 22 originally on direct service out and via MIA back - when that was canned they rebooked my outbound via MIA. When it became clear than US travel wasn't opening up I looked at doing the trip via MAD but to avoid an overnight at MAD (and all the COVID testing that would have involved) to stay in transit required a 6:20am start to make a safe connection (the 7:20am was too close a call for me at only 45 mins since I feared getting to SJO without my luggage!). In any event all irrelevant since Costa Rica remains on red list.

I will try again this summer and if there is no direct will book via MIA again I think as next best since can use 2:4:1 and avois on that routing
