Hi guys,

This is my first time on this forum, does anyone know if BA89 from LHR to PKX on 16 June 2020 would be cancelled?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Flyertalk, and the China forum!

I think that flight will be cancelled, although it hasn't actually been cancelled yet. I am booked on the return flight of the same aircraft (BA88 on 17th June), and it hasn't been cancelled for me yet in MMB. However, it looks like BA has stopped selling any tickets for flights to/from Beijing until 2nd August, so I assume the cancellation will come shortly.

I just checked and found out this flight is already gone from GDS, so it might already been cancelled, time to give BA a call.

Isn't it the case that many of the China flights are being run for cargo purposes, albeit on normal passenger flight service numbers?

This is true everywhere. Only way to know for sure whether a passenger flight is actually carrying passengers is to try to book it. Then wait 24 hours to see whether your booking gets cancelled.

BA had planned to resume the service from 14 June. Obviously, this will be subject to an ongoing review

The BA cargo services are flying to PEK and not PKX.
