A friend in BA Ops told me that, following the quarantine, they are pulling a lot of inventory from July. They'd hoped to fly at least 50% of the programme, with the first tentative steps in mid-June, but they just don't see the way to do it with Patel's lockdown in place.
Any cancellations today yet, PVK and KLX still standing?

Why is BA being so pessimistic, there seems to be lots of positive noises about air bridges etc?

Because no one is buying. No one is going to plan business travel with an uncertain variable of such dimensions as this quarantine - I certainly am not - and if people are planning their own leisure flights they're chancing it.

LHR-New Orleans cancelled end July
Just had our (ex EU) flight LHR-MSY (New Orleans) cancelled. As New Orleans isn't currently a US entry point I had doubted for a while that this would run. Our positioning flight LCY-FRA (Frankfurt) is still on theoretically and you can still book this for most of July, despite airport being shut! Will wait for refund till both are cancelled.
Got to hope AA flights in America get changed so I can get a cash refund for them rather than a voucher.

EasyJet , Jet2, Ryanair all heavily promoting their July schedules (e mail blasts, social media , websites) - surely BA will loose out significantly if quarantine is lifted ? We’ve just switched all of our summer bookings to EasyJet ....

i used them constantly. Flat more than 20 sectors a year and you get flight club which gives free flight changes ( fare difference applies ) and free name changes.

However, Gatwick to Dalaman was performing very well last year. Also, Thomas Cook ( RIP ) had more than 7-8 daily flights to London from Dalaman during high-season and the occupancy of these flights were very good.

I assume that BA would resume short-haul cancellations on Monday, and follow with long-haul ones later in the week.

Give it a few days. Doesn't look like BA is operating SEA at all through June 30, so there's no way that they will resume double daily flights July 1.
I'd put five bucks on both July 1 flights being cancelled at this point. Until the UK quarantine is lifted and the United States lifts its ban on foreign citizens who have been in the UK/EU, I can't see BA resuming more than a small fraction of its regular North American schedule. July services are likely to look quite a bit like June.

Might just be another pile of refunds for them to deal with.
