BA A350 G- XWBA clips EK B777 at DXB

Didn’t see a thread on this here. Please delete/merge if one exists.

Seems like an A350 was damaged in a collision with a EK 777 at DXB, presumably while operating a cargo-only flight. Not sure if anyone knows what registration it is.

EDIT: seems to be XWBA

BA will be pleased, a grounded aircraft that they don't need anyway right now, that someone will be paying them handsomely for! (DNATA's insurer presumably).

XWBA clips a EK B777 in DXB

Just seen an update that XWBA has clipped the horizontal stabilisers of an EK B777 at Dubai airport. How this even possible in this day and age ?

Question is ... who’s picking up the bill for this?

G-XWBA hasn't had the best start in life, what with the flaps damage/check in August....

Something for the crash gang to go fix, but I believe they may have been stood down.

They probably hired some ground staff from IST.

DXB/DNATA's insurance will have to cover the bill.

The BA aircraft was a cargo flight, unoccupied bar crew. The EK aircraft was empty having last operated the day before.

Was it XWBA which has had earlier ‘incidents’ or was it another frame ?

Were there any passengers on board either aircraft? I thought cargo only flights have been assigned a different flight number but it says in the tweet BA106 was cancelled. Either way that will be an expensive bill for the ground handling agent.
