My last flight was on 15th of March on BA. It was supposed to be on LOT but due to borders closure in Poland, I had unexpected weekend in Frankfurt. I can't wait the time when I can go somewhere again. I suspect it might be Germany if they lift their lockdown and open hotels. Doesn't look like other countries are rushing to do the same.

I have 3 future tickets to USA and waiting for the flights to be cancelled to get refunds. Still trying to squeeze money out of LOT for cancelled flight. Doesn't look like we will be traveling a lot this year with all restrictions in place.

I'm not saving money by not traveling, because virus took away my job, so now spending savings on daily expenses, which is a shame. I would prefer to spend it on pleasure rather than necessities.

I do know someone back in the UK, a very infrequent flyer, who had a holiday of a lifetime booked which has had to be cancelled. As they're getting on in years I doubt they will rebook it for another time. Knowing how much they were looking forward to it it's people like that I really feel sorry for.
Sorry, I didn’t want to like your post since this would send the wrong impression, it is terrible tragic all the consequences of the SARS2-CoV-2 virus and my heart goes out to your friend. Here’s hoping they do get that other opportunity.

I am like others who have had their wings clipped and am not able to fly. My life was, thank God, restricted to booking holidays. Managing several properties (and I apologise if that sounds grand and bragging) - Alicante, London, and France meant enough flying. What this had done is to stop and take stock and realise that we are extremely fortunate to have one home let alone others, especially considering that some have none at all. So No, we are not flying and we are not missing it. When the world returns to sanity and we can move again, then it will be time to worry about all that. Due to our trip in February and March, I discovered that since that we had taken 27 fllights. In about 8 weeks we had flown more than some people do in their entire lives. So, we are not moving until we get the all clear and then we will get back to Spain as we have been away for there nearly 3 months. The frivolous trips will follow in due course.

I can't claim a lot of lost flights here, but the planned trip home to Sweden for Midsommar is now clearly off, although I had waited to book to see how things were going to pan out, so no refund faffing about required. Thankful I didn't book some of the tier point runs I had planned and replanned as I watched the virus reports move west from January.

However, we DID get stuck in a rental conundrum - gave notice on this place, it rented right away, we had hassle finding a new place in getting pipped at the post on a few options. Secured a place in early March that was 90% what we wanted, to move end of April. Call a week later - the owners who are renting it are emigrating to the US which just closed its borders. Tried to arrange some other viewings for other places the week after and all of them were pulled for various reasons of self-isolation, etc. Threw in the towel last week and took a short let for four months to cover us and let the market recalibrate.

Next booked flights are to Chicago in September for my sister's wedding and the Ryder Cup, assuming that doesn't get moved to 2021 since all the other golf events have been moved/cancelled. For various reasons we weren't able to leave London after September last year - while I imagine the first flight in ongoing-COVID world is going to be interesting, I can't wait to get back on a plane again, especially to go home to see family.

Heresy on the BA forum, I know. But any port in a storm.

We are a diverse bunch.
So where do I fit into all of this?

I had lots of flights to be booked but the sniff of this virus told my analytical brain to wait, fortunately. We had just returned from a family wedding in East Malaysia, our second East Asian trip in a couple of months. My partner is a hospital specialist and now looking after a Covid-19 ward with all leave cancelled. Trips to southern Spain will not now be happening.

The freelance part of my media work was to see me in Rotterdam in May but some big event (!) was cancelled and I am in the throws of sorting that out. It looks like airline vouchers (when I may not have cause to use them again) and not refunds.
We were to be in Toronto in the summer and still have flights to China for October. Maybe that will be the safest place to be then!
I am not in a high risk group but all the information from our medical friends does concern me. Anyone can get the bug and no medicine or ICU will stop it if your body is hit hard. I very much doubt that it will be wise to travel until at least September without being at risk. Without a vaccine this could go on for a very long time.

My heart goes out to those separated by where they happen to find themselves geographically.
I am still incredibly busy remotely trying to keep a radio station on air so it's still up at 8am and going to bed shattered!
Stay safe folks.

I flew to Australia on the 10th March. My work was continuing, but with the US banning European transit pax and Singapore threatening to do the same, I had to get back home. So I flew back on the 16th March.

Coming up to a month in the UK - which is fast approaching the longest continuous period I've stayed in the UK in about ten years.

This is me in Sydney harbour around 10am on the 16th. There's something missing from the photos.... can't quite put my finger on it...

Similar timing to me, I returned from GVA on 14th March. Although this was my first visit to GVA, it was eerily quite compared to what I had envisaged.

No flights since then, and no flights booked - apart from Vegas in July to attend a Microsoft conference, which has already been cancelled but BA won't (yet) offer me an evoucher.

I was supposed to fly EDI-LHR last week for a family funeral, but decided against flying in the end and took the train instead, which was almost entirely empty - had the entire coach to myself from Edinburgh to Newcastle, joined by 1 other person from Newcastle to Kings Cross.

I managed to keep flying until quite late: 6 flights in February and 10 in March, my final one on 29th March. Now grounded for the foreseeable future though, my next bookings are in mid-June but suspect those might not happen...

Is that clear? I'm holding out hope for somewhat of a return to normalcy in a couple of months. I've got a flight booked to Canada a couple weeks after Midsommar and feeling reasonably optimistic that we'll still be able to go.

It was definitely yucky, Wozza, I left on the 19th on BA16 and it wasn't much better. We could have had dinner!!!

Since then we have had nothing but sunshine in GVA and higher daytime temperatures than SYD (but unlike SYD, frosts at night!), so uncle T, that's where the sun went!.

@ Wozza2404 - nice photos ....... and clearly, no social distancing necessary on that particular day.

Just wanted to add that if you’re thinking of adding any of them to the popular ‘Where in the world am I? | 2020 edition‘ wiki-thread ..... I somehow managed to guess the location the moment I spotted your post.

I was actaully scheduled to leave on the 18th on BA16 but only to SIN. Then I had BOM, KUL and BKK on the cards before heading back to LHR the following week. Of course, by then the world was closing so the decision was made to bugger off sharpish.
