Of particular note, issued boarding passes with different seat numbers for SYD-SIN & SIN-LHR while clearly the aircraft cannot be properly cleaned with the vast majority of pax remaining on board. Obviously social distancing is not possible...in premium & economy anyway...but this still does not seem particularly sensible.

Think its because people get on and off in normal times and its a requirement issued by Australia immigration that everyone leaving SIN gets re-screened regardless of port of origin if they leave the aircraft (which they usually do due to cleaning, catering, crew change as well as refuel). I believe under the current arrangement no one leaves the aircraft and it just gets refuelled and off it goes.

There are still thousands of passengers a day arriving into LHR, and then getting straight onto the tube with absolutely no checks. Completely bizarre.

A friend of ours who's MF Crew did SIN-SYD last week- their hotel was shifted to the [name redacted] and they're confined to their rooms. Essentially spending 9 days without getting any fresh air definitely doesn't sound very fun.

Has nobody yet noticed that the most badly affected cities in Europe and the US are all major airline hubs ? A Spanish virologist was making this point about Madrid only yesterday.
There were 13 IAG flights arriving daily from MAD until pretty much the week before last, and long after Madrid had been identified as a top C-19 hotspot. Why is nobody focusing on the need to perform any sort of screening on the arriving pax, or facilitating their transfer to places where they can self-isolate after arrival ? This is insane !!

"Just last week, eight passengers who later tested positive for COVID-19 arrived in Shanghai from Italy and passed the airport screeners unnoticed, for example. And even if screeners do find the occasional case, it has almost no impact on the course of an outbreak.
"Ultimately, measures aimed at catching infections in travelers will only delay a local epidemic and not prevent it,” says Ben Cowling, an epidemiologist at the University of Hong Kong. He and others say screening is often instituted to show that a government is taking action, even if the impact is marginal."

Because it's pretty much pointless. From an article on the Science Magazine website: https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020...ad-coronavirus
