BA station managers (there were two at least, I think, last I knew, although one may be a deputy station manager), QF check-in and gate staff, and I think baggage handling is Menzies but don't quote me on that.

Will keep you posted later
I wouldn't be so sure, at Phuket yesterday SQ initially denied check to a lot of people who couldn't transit before 2359 even though they were still booked and they were not planning to help them (as there really isn't anything they could do)

Seemed like in the end the passengers were allowed to board and ground staff and security were waiting for them at Changi, presumably to escort them to a specific area of the airport to wait

You need to read the advice here and buy your own ticket home now

Then good luck to the SYD station managers; I assume that Dnata/Menzies check-in staff would not have the authorization to rebook pax and deal with them and possibly QF agents too...

They could simply ask LHR pax to wait at a corner, with some fake info that they are in touch with the BA HQ and Singapore authorities, and then disappear after check-in closes. A possible scenario.

--------

By the way, if I'm not wrong BA has SIN based cabin crew. If a SIN based cabin crew is allocated for this flight, the routing would 99.9% not change.

Do yourself a favour. If you must wait for the BA flight you are booked on, buy a refundable ticket on MH that departs after BA. If you don't need it, then get a refund.
Your strategy of waiting to see is asking to get stuck, and likely to be to your detriment.

There is no longer any Singapore-based cabin crew for BA. There hasn't been for a while now.

Richard, I am getting the feeling that being "stuck" in Sydney would not be the end of the world for you?

The UK was just put on lockdown within the last hour, with people only being allowed out for essential supplies, essential work and exercise once a day.

Might you be better off just staying there? It can't be much worse.

This shows how quickly the situation is evolving and that anybody affect needs to act quickly as LTN Phobia and others have suggested.

I suspect Sydney will be locked down shortly, including ban on interstate travel.

Either that or Richard has a remarkable level of risk tolerance. I still suspect that with the number of Brits stranded in Australia, there will be some solution worked out to get people home. Certainly well beyond my risk tolerance though.

I was thinking the same, maybe some repatriation flights like the ones that we saw from Wuhan?

I would say this is very likely. Even Switzerland will organize repatriation flights to all continents.

I suspect that also. Perhaps it might be better to ride out the lockdowns in a nice apartment with harbour views?
