KWI (Kuwait) expected to ban all international flights
"Starting Friday, March 13, 2020, Kuwait International Airport will close for passenger service indefinitely"
More glum news, another BA route to be pulled for a while

Oh good, another article from OMAAT with no source.
There is no NOTAM (for which there is one suspending flights from the other already known countries). The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has made a public statement announcing there is no truth to the rumour the airport is to close. They have also included this handy infographic:

I must say I am very surprised BA or any western airline serves it just like Pakistan. I don't ever recall either place ever being approved by the FCO. Apart from nationals visiting their homeland who would go there and why would BA put the safety of their staff at risk. (No racism intended in my post)

Agreed, and similarly so for Pakistan I might add (although ever so slightly less than Kuwait)

Not to mention the vast number of western- educated offspring, in addition to the medical facilities - the government pays to fly many of their citizens to Europe for specialized medical treatment.
Currently booked on the KWI-LHR service in July. Watching this space to see how it plays out.

Pakistan is an amazing country, I've been there on holidays and I would go again. The biggest risk to tourists is the poor standard of driving, but that can be said of many places. Kuwait, OK, I must admit I'd struggle to sing its praises, but for a few days by the beach it has a value, nightlife by the Corniche is a worthwhile experience as the families and young men come out to socialise. If you are happier in Benidorm then don't let me stop you, but we are blessed with an amazing planet, mankind can for the first time get to see these places in terms of access and affordability, but don't take my word for it, seeing is believing. I hope this crisis will be over before too long and that these restrictions can be eased.

Kuwait may be more hidden than gem, but it certainly does not deserve the negative comments on here. It is perfectly safe, people are extremely friendly, and it is a lot more authentic than other places in the Middle East (that refers to you, Dubai, capital of bling).
Fair enough, some people just want booze and bikini on their holidays, and Kuwait is neither, but that is not to say that it doesn't have charm.
