I guess with the Coronavirus fears and other events which have/will affect airlines profits we can be thankful. BA is in a very strong position and that is ultimately down to their earlier cost cutting. No it hasn’t always been great for passengers but it ensures staff can keep their jobs and passengers still have a trustworthy airline to keep using.

I think the hysteria whipped up by the press has most likely doomed Norwegian. BA will hoover up their traffic, and once again find themselves short staffed. There are a lot of Pilots retiring in the next 3 years.

Whether you agree with the policy or not, BA has long maintained a ‘one in, all in’ policy for bonuses, which means that if rank and file employees see no bonus, neither does the CEO.
