This sounds like a marriage made in heaven....or at least a Household Account.

Sorry, no chance on the marriage front...

Is it possible to create a household account (when we're not a household...!!) and then transfer both my voucher and my companion's Avios into the account for the purpose of generating the 2 for 1 reward flight...??

Have you read this? https://www.britishairways.com/travel/share-avios/execclub/_gf/en_gb

If your fellow traveller is Gold, there's no fee for transferring. Otherwise it gets a bit expensive.

HHA is not the way to go if you don't meet the rules (i'e living in the same address).

Also avios would be pulled pro rata from each account in the HHA with paying for the flight. Which is not what you want.

Nor would I want to start paying to transfer avios from theor account to yours (unless they were gold)

As always, you empty out one account into an Avios.com or IB+ account, then book the reward flights "pro rata" = 100% from the other account, then dissolve the HHA account and/or move the Avios back to BA via Avios.com.

As per BA.com

Sharing Avios

Transferring Avios

You can also top-up another Memberís account, when they live at a different address from you, by transferring Avios to them. That way, they can enjoy their next reward* flight sooner.

How it works

  • You can pay to transfer up to 162,000 Avios, with a maximum of 27,000 Avios to any Executive Club Member, in one calendar year.
  • You will need to know the full name, email address and Executive Club number to transfer Avios to another Member.
  • The Member receiving Avios needs to have a balance of one or more Avios in their account.
  • Avios can only be transferred online and in multiples of 1,000** with a maximum amount per transaction of 27,000 Avios.
  • Avios are transferred immediately and can be used right away.
  • You will be charged a non-refundable fee, dependent on the number of Avios transferred.
  • You must be over 18 years old to transfer Avios.
