No "deposit" option on BA Holidays

I am trying to book flight + hotel to Japan but only need hotel for the first 3 days (we will also visit Jeju for a week and use AirBnb, hence no need for hotel in Osaka for entire 2 weeks).

In the past I was able to use the deposit option, as long as the hotel was for a minimum of 3 days, the BA Holiday rules applied even if the flight were weeks apart, did not have to book for entire stay.

However, it asks for entire payment upfront now. Has something change or is a bug?

EDIT: I am using the "Flight+Hotel" option to book, with sub-option "Don't need hotel for entire trip". Always worked in the past, as long as trip under 5 weeks (trip is under 5 months).

The exact circumstances when a deposit can be used can be a bit random in my experience. I have seen no deposit option offered even with a hotel for a full trip and many months ahead.

Unless the trip was in less than 5 weeks or the cost of the trip was less than the deposit, then this is a bug.

General advice is to fiddle with the options. See these recent threads:
Booking Holiday to Japan no deposit option
Is there a minimum cost for BA holiday to pay a deposit?

Yes, I am one the posters that replied to one of the above quoted posts above. However, in this case there is no more fiddling I could think of, which make me suspect that either something has changed recently (hotel needs to be for entire stay) or it is a bug. What other fiddling could I do?

Call up, tell them that the website is broken and get them to waive the booking fee

Add a car? Then remove it later?

It doesn't. Last page asks to enter credit card number with "Pay" button and full balance only.

See dummy booking here. I clicked flight plus car then create custom trip. Added flights and hotel for one night only. Ł300 deposit available.

Five weeks, If the booking is more than 5 weeks out try deleting your cookies or a different browser. I tend to try a zillion options and at one point the "computer say's no" and a cache empty fixes that.
