BA to end Narita, Tokyo service goes twice daily to Haneda

BA have announced that they are to end the Tokyo, Narita service in favour of a twice daily to Haneda - the last day of service will be outbound 28th March.

And no A350 service wither that was bounced around to get accounts for the Olympics. That wouldn’t be as there’s not enough room for 2 hot meal services could it?

Is there any indication of timings and aircraft for the second HND service?

i wonder where the HND slot has come from? JAL as part of the JV?

I'm booked on the Narita service in late May, but haven't heard a peep yet...

I am decidedly not a morning person, so if they attempt to switch my perfect 15:40 departure to NRT for a 9:40 or 11:35 to HND, I shall be quite annoyed.

Could be the same 789 that's been doing the NRT one.

This makes absolute sense. HND is far better for domestic transfers and, hopefully, the timing of the second flight will support this. i.e. an afternoon or evening departure.

Me too. It seems ideal for jet lag and for arriving for hotel opening. The combination of these timings and a 787 in CW over the dormitory was the reason I booked the relative inconvenience of Narita.

Iím booked to return early April so hoping that the flight timings stay around the same, as Iím most definitely not a morning person either!

My MMB just updated for the outbound, and I received an email for apologies for them having to change my seats for operational reasons (but hilariously doesn't mention the flight change itself).

Japan authorities released a number of slots pairs - 20 comes to mind. US got around 12.

As to those with concerns about the timings why not just do a dummy booking to see if anything has changed??

Not entirely surprising. I was on the NRT service a couple of weeks ago and loads weren't huge, HND is so much better for central Tokyo.

I hope they switch the horrendous flight times too. From HND maybe they can do a nighttime departure/early morning arrival.
