Same experience at PHL. After agent had checked my receipt, they simply asked if I had anything to declare. I responded no and they wished me a good day.

You don’t need to have global entry at San Diego. The official said hi Martin as I walked up to the booth. It took 10 seconds. He stamped the passport and I was through. I presume they had scanners as I was walking up to the booth.
