Amenity Kit Pens

Having never had a problem with the "old" first pens these new ones with the stylus type end are remarkably flimsy. That's now three where the end has come off after less than a day of using them. Has anyone else encountered this? I accept they are put into amenity kits for use on board and filling in landing cards etc. but would be nice to get some use out of them once back on the ground?

I have used one since last July as a pen and a stylus with no problem yet. I checked and it seems stable today.

Apart from the '100' logo, the old and battered pen does look more sturdy!

Even the pens in Club World aren't immune from problems. I find that they tend to smudge badly and the ink congeals on the tip so you don't get a smooth writing motion when using them. Personally I prefer to use a decent fountain pen when completing landing cards. It lends a touch of gravitas to the immigration formalities. One should never travel without a good pen, ink and - of course - blotting paper!

I was very surprised by the good quality of BA F pens and have used them a lot. V unhappy if they have been replaced by a sub-standard supplier. Most F packs don't even seem to have a pen and as others have commented it's really helpful as it stops you having to dig around in your hand luggage for a pen to fill in landing forms etc.
Lip balm
Eye mask
Ear plugs
Pen
I don't really need anything else.

Buy a Pen and move on. If you can afford to travel in first ... buy a pen!

But it reflects badly on the brand. Whilst they may only cost pennies less than the last product it reaffirms that BA are looking at the bottom line without protecting that which they have fought so hard to build over the years.

You would not give someone a sub quality business card and whilst I appreciate this is different it does reflect on the way people will feel about BA moving forwards..

Which airline would you recommend if one were to choose based on the highest quality amenity kit pen?

so glad, I give all my kits away without even opening them.... plus a good thing is that I always have at least 3 or 4 pens with me
when I travel. (my wife thinks I am crazy, but when you need a pen... )
