The level of inconsistency is interesting. Whatís the correct protocol to serve the carrot soup?

One has 3 visible pieces of carrots and doused with chive oil.

The other looks more restrained.

Expected menu for BA112 JFK - LHR in early Sept

Menu 1 of 3

Menu 2 of 3

Menu 3 of 3

This menu is a problem for me as I would enjoy only the soup from the starters and none of the main courses - chicken sounds too boring.

Does anybody have an idea what the kosher meal(s) would be on this trip?

Just had the 'marinated spring chicken with roasted baby pineapple, spiced curry sauce and coconut' on the BA280 (LAX-LHR)...

The roasted pineapple is a weird giant slab. Which was pretty awful. Forgot to take a picture, but it looks pretty bizarre! Even CC commented on it.

The rest of the dish was fine.

Perhaps least favourite F meal I've had in a while, so wouldn't recommend.

On the other hand, the beef carpaccio is one of the better starters in a while.

Menu and a few pics from yesterdays BA238 BOS to LHR.

Smoked salmon was particularly good, and the charcuterie bowl was huge. Made a nice change from the usual pre-heated Full English. Paneer tikka masala was excellent, but I'd be in no rush to order the quinoa again....!

I flew BA173 on Aug 9 and had the same dessert that has been pictured. The crepes were delicious, hot and had plenty of sauce. Only disappointment was that the vanilla ice cream was not offered when I was served. Turns out it was not loaded but on request the strawberry white chocolate ice cream was very nice!

Does PHL to LHR get the BOS-style light meal or a full dinner?

I donít think anyone is taking BA menus seriously. ďHomemadeĒ, ďtraditional award winningĒ, U.K flag next to tiramisu, spelling mistakes and so on.

USA flights in First :
West to East (overnights) have a full meal, and breakfast before landing.
East to West (daytime) have a full meal, and then a light meal or afternoon tea before landing.

So either direction you get 2 meals

I did enjoy the breakfast with runny poached eggs - a bit random and wasn't super hot (but that was my fault for messing the crew's timings) but different and good alternative to the full english.

i think the confusion comes from the breakfast and light meal sequence on BOS-LHR a few posts above; however what not everyone might realise is that it is so because thatís the day time flight and not overnight which is referred to here. So the flight starts with a main hot breakfast and the second service is a hot dinner, but with less choice than main dinners.

The catering on day time east bound tatl flights is in fact fine in F (but quite poor in J).
