Personally, I find the posts moaning about a drift OT to be far more tedious than the natural flow of conversation that is sparked by a genuine DYKWIA story...

This is probably a dumb question but why do they board business class first? I mean, when you think about it logically, would they not board the back of the plane first, then WTP then business? The back of the plane is likely to be less experienced travellers, take longer to get on and if i had lounge access i would much rather sit in the lounge than wait for boarding to start? Im just curious. As mentioned before, i have to get on the plane early due to anxiety but if they stopped us down the back from putting our bags above the wrong cabin, then why dont they just do that?
We are getting OT but I can add some information to your query.
I have flown Thai First a few times some years ago and it appeared this is what they did there then.
When departing from BKK the first time I was slightly perturbed that I had not been called from the lounge and the late Mrs A was getting very tetchy about missing the flight - but was told by the lounge staff they would collect me when the plane was ready. A few minutes before departure time I was escorted from the lounge, and walked to the plane at an adjacent gate (having had a personal buggy on the way in) with a porter for our hand luggage. On entering at door 1L we could see the plane fully boarded. Shown to seat and sat down, porter put bag overhead. Doors closed and push back within a few seconds! It certainly felt very First Class service.
With just the two of us in the First Class cabin from BKK-SYD it was very personal dinner service etc. Very memorable.
Trying that on a European carrier would start a riot!!

Boarding first on the other hand eliminates this proble and it is possible to enjoy a beverage and pre departure snack sometimes. (And obviously no anxiety about waiting to board or missing the flight).
And we wouldn't want to throw out whomevers luggage is above 1A or we'd land as protagonist in a DYKWIA story on here
In retrosepect: It's either boarding as first or as last for me.

To try and bring this back on topic. I have a confession to make...
A few weeks back I was flying MAN-BSL on Easyjet. There is a BP / Passport check before you are allowed into the Easyjet bag drop area. There was a mob of about 30 people around this area, with no particular queue.
As I have Easyjet Plus, I should get priority access to the bag drop. So, I went to the lady who was doing the BP checks, and asked her where the Easyjet Plus entry was. She replied that this was it, and asked to see my BP / Passport. As I was let through, somebody in the "mob" said "we're all Easyjet Plus also!".
I felt guilty for about 10 seconds.

The same happens on Swiss in First Class: The Boarding time of the plane on the F BP is set to 15 minuts before departure which is a lot later than the normal boarding time. It is so that you can stay in the Lounge longer and then head down (no escort, they trust you to find your own way to the gate which I appreciate since I really don't need a babysitter ) and board as one of the last. I really enjoy that. That is, however, for long haul flights only: On European flights I do sometimes board last, but even in Business overhead luggage stowage is limited. I've had that problem several times sitting in 1A and the only place for my luggage was at row 8 or even further back, which is rather annoying since you'll have to fight your way back when deplaning or waiting until pretty much everybody has left.

I did exactly this on a flight from ZRH to DXB in LX F, enjyoing the lounge haveing lunch and then heading to the gate as late as possible. I was still a little early so there were like maybe ten more people queueing from the Economy Boarding. (This late in boarding they were using all gates to board Economy which is perfectly understandable imho). I got in line and some people also joined behind me. There was thir rather grumpy looking gate agent scanning the boarding passes. As soon as it was my turn and she scanned my baording pass and upon seaing the seat number 001A her face lights up and she says: "Have a ncie flight Mr. Art.". It made my day, because she did know who I am It did certainly make me feel special.
I know it's not really a classic DYKWIA behaviour, but I still felt like sharing it.

The thread is about DYKWIA experiences, not queuing systems in various arts of the world. You're welcome to start a thread in OMNI about that, and let it be debated there.

Our discussion about wether or not these thigns are off topic, are most definetly off topic.
Just let the conversation flow it natural flow. If somebody has a new DYKWIA story to share they will certainly do so no matter the discussions before.

Stay on topic
FlyerTalk exists for the discussion of frequent flyer programs and the related travel experience. With the exception of the few areas specifically designated for the discussion of other topics, confine your comments as closely as possible to these topic areas and to the topic of the thread and forum in which you are posting.

I really wish the mods would just remove all off-topic posts (including this one!).
What used to be one of the most entertaining threads on the forum has, in the last couple of years, become one of the most tedious. It's the fourth day of the year, the thread is already four pages long and there are, perhaps, three tales of DYKWIA behaviour.

I’m not sure who was the DYKWIA but a couple of years ago I was flying BA YYZ to LHR on the later (10PM) flight in Club World. My wife is Canadian and so she often spends a few more days in Toronto during holidays whilst I have to come back to work.
She and our then 3 year old son had come to see me off and we were waiting in a short but slow moving queue at check in which had more or less just opened. We were stood in the Club queue, but for whatever reason the only premium check in agent was sat behind the First desk instead (ie just one agent calling people from club over) despite the fact that it was a 3 class 787 without a first cabin. So we waited for a couple of passengers to check in before it would finally be our turn, just as we were about to be called over a lady appeared in the First queue and made it fairly clear by her body language that she’d be the next person to be served. I mentioned to her in a friendly way that there wasn’t a First cabin on the flight and she said that she flies with British Airways a lot and they ‘look after her real good’ so she’d be checked in next (she mentioned she was flying in Y) I said we’d been waiting a long time and that it was passed our son’s bedtime and that he was just here to see me off.
Hearing this a man stood behind me suddenly launched into a bit of an argument with her — asking if she had an ounce of human decency and then spent the next 60 seconds or so arguing with her on my behalf. As a result the conclusion seemed to be that I would be checked in next and that was pretty much that although she gave me several frosty looks through security.
I guess she was probably in the right if she had a gold card but given the circumstances and our tired little bit, I was very grateful for the angry yet highly eloquent chap behind.
I’ve been wanting to mention this here for literally two years and so this is my first post — it’s nice to finally get off my chest!
