WTP seat map full but 5 avios seats
 

Something strange is going on with BA244 from EZE to LHR on 1/1. There are 2 avios seats for WT and 5 for WTP, but in both cases the seat map is completely full (other than 6 seats at the very back in the case of WT). In my experience for this flight, even on full flights the seat map for WT is wide open before checkin since most people don't have status or pay for seats. On the other hand, the seat map for J looks normal, with about a third of the cabin unselected (and no avios availability).

I'm booked in WTP and wouldn't mind an upgrade of any kind. What does your crystal ball say?

Thanks! What I find strange is that they are willing to overbook W with awards but don't release any J avios availability (I would UUA if they did, and they may have to upgrade people for free if they don't).

Because they don't want people gaming the system thinking they can UuA into CW rather than paying for it...... BA wants to fill an aircraft more than they want to fill a particular cabin.
