BA pilots given recycled G-BNLJ

I see BA are handing out commemorative 100 years keyrings recycled from the fuselage of a retired 747 (G-BNLJ) in a special box and a note from Alex Cruz as a thank you gift for their hard work. They look really cute!

Does anyone know if BA will be selling any of these or giving them out to frequent flyers?

Has anyone here got one?

I There are more than one scrapped B744 being used to make theses key rings and they are all individual, we have two here.
I don’t think they will be given to anyone but current staff but I’m told that they are already available on EBay.

There are quite a few on eBay already if you want one at a vastly inflated price.

BA pilots given recycled G-BNLJ

My pilot friends were yesterday presented with a pretty unique gift: a key-ring made from the fuselage of G-BNLJ. Suspect some might end up on eBay, but I’m pretty sure these will be well coveted on this forum!

Any price is inflated as they are not worth anything, I wouldn’t sell mine it just doesn’t seem right in my opinion.

Should point out it’s being given to all employees. The Mrs has received hers too.

I find it harsh that some have already tossed theirs on eBay. Same with the Xmas bauble of a couple of years ago: yes, it doesn’t change my opinion of the company or its leadership but I would’ve kept mine had I received one.

Me neither, I wanted to march in Waterside with that hanging from my neck like Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys used to do with the VW symbol...

I wonder if Aviation Tag or a similar company will now be able to manufacture similar tags in the future from recycled BA fuselages for sale to the general public.

I disagree.

Each one is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, and that would appear to be rather more than nothing.
