Quick question about BWI to LHR aircraft

Hi,

Recently, from BWI to LHR, travel was done in a 787 but from LHR to BWI was in a 777. Out of sheer curiosity, is this AC change permanent or is/was the 787 being refurbished?

Cheers

They’re definitely not refurbishing the 787s for quite some time

Appreciate the quick response! I thought that it was too early for a 787 refurb but just couldn't figure out why the aircraft change. Even now it appears that a 777 is flying between BWI and LHR as opposed to the 787 that it used to be.

Due to the ongoing engine issues with the 787s, BA has a few frames out of service. Therefore, they have moved a 777 from LGW to LHR to cover the BWI route while the 787s are out of action. Once RR has fixed the Trent issues I assume BWI will be back to a 787-8.

Thanks!
