What's the BKK issue? Does it affect F?

For flights to Phuket I prefer to avoid flights via Bangkok with BA and Bangkok Airways. In my experience the BA flights to Bangkok are not as bad as these forums might suggest, but it’s never been a route with the best standard of aircraft. Instead I normally prefer to choose whatever is best value at time via Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian, or via Doha with Qatar or sometimes via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific.

We have just returned from Phuket after 21 days. This is high season now and the weather was great but we did have 3 days of 75% rain in the last week and it was just like the low season (August). Exceptional however, but still loads to see and do. The winds change direction in the low season so consider staying on the east side.
For the first time we didn't go BA9/10 and chose QR as at the time of booking there was a BA strike threat. This meant we could return direct from HKT in the business cabin with only 6 others. Window seats then together in the middle for the meal. I now avoid PG for the trip down from BKK as they always stitch us (divers) on excess baggage even though we pre pay - I feel certain their scales are rigged! So TG for us as they never seem too picky on excess baggage.

I’m not surprised that you think that PG’s scales are rigged, I very much doubt that scale calibration applies over there. Here Trading Standards would happily (and have done) crucify an airline for dodgy scales.
