I think you’re safe to grab a drink after your meal or towards the end of flight if you wish. It’s December and Tenerife, whilst it’s probably busy-ish, I doubt the bar stock will be depleted like a August flight of the brits going abroad kind! Enjoy the trip.

Alcohol is not strictly compulsory at 8am, but it is preferred.

I virtually never fly BA, and even I know the protocol is to drink it!

How can you possibly enjoy booze at 9 in the morning? I am still hungover from the night before!

There's something about flying that makes a 8am cocktail OK. Enjoy and ignore those who might not agree. You're the one who is spending the day traipsing the airports and connecting legs. I'll meet you in the bar

We had drinks in the airport bar at 6 AM on our way to a bachelor party in Vegas. And then more on the flight. Your not driving so what difference does it make.

Aeromexico tends to not serve pre departure alcohol. Inflight you must go to the forward galley if you want it regardless it is different than what the what the menu says

Plus, on your early morning departure from LON there are bound to be people connecting from all sorts of international flights for whose bodies it may will be a very different time.
